A major milestone for PEI’s aerospace industry.
A combined federal-provincial investment of $110 million is supporting a $212 million expansion of the MDS Coating Technologies facility in Slemon Park. This project includes a 50,000 square foot expansion and the acquisition of advanced manufacturing equipment to increase global export capacity.
The province is contributing $55 million toward the project. This includes a $45 million loan through Finance PEI, a $3 million capital grant through Innovation PEI, and $6.75 million through the Labour Rebate Program.
This expansion strengthens Canada’s national industrial sovereignty and defence sector and is expected to double the company's workforce, creating up to 120 new high-skilled, well-paying jobs for Islanders.

Last month, our team joined the 45th Annual Terry Fox Run across the Confederation Bridge, an event honoring Canadian hero Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope.
Through the efforts of our team (and families!), we raised $385, which MDS matched for a total donation of $770 to the Terry Fox Foundation!
Thank you to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered, or donated.

What a great weekend at Air Show Atlantic!
We were thrilled to welcome employee families for tours of our facility, enjoy a delicious lunch from the Sizzler, and watch the show with our community. It was also a pleasure connecting with so many visitors at our booth.

Busy day with meetings, I joined Jon Cheverie MDS Coating Technologies, attending the Atlantic Canada Aerospace and Defence Reception. We discussed MDS Coating’s growth plans with ACOA Minister Sean Fraser and my focus on supporting businesses that grow our economy!

We are thrilled to share that our recent food drive was a huge success! Thanks to the generosity of our incredible team, we raised over 600 lbs in food for The Salvation Army in Summerside, PEI.
