As we step into a new week, we want to gently remind anyone in our community who may be carrying a heavy load right now — you don’t have to carry it alone.
It’s okay to have difficult days. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or not quite like yourself. What matters most is knowing that support is within reach, and there are people who genuinely care about your well-being.
Whether it’s opening up to someone you trust, checking in with a loved one, or connecting with a professional, even a small step toward support can make a meaningful difference. You deserve to be heard, understood, and supported.
If you or someone you know could use a little extra support, please consider reaching out to one of these local resources:

Let’s continue to show kindness, check in on one another, and create a community where no one feels alone. There is hope, and there are brighter days ahead. 💛

To those in our community who may be struggling with their mental health — please know that you are not alone. It’s okay to not be okay, and it’s okay to reach out for help.
There are caring people and local supports available to listen, support, and guide you through difficult times. Whether it’s talking to a friend, a family member, or reaching out to a professional, taking that first step matters.
If you or someone you know is struggling, please connect with local resources, helplines, or community services. Support is here for you.
Let’s continue to look out for one another and remind each other that brighter days are possible. 💛

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Addiction Resource Coalition’s Annual Mental Health BBQ at Kinsmen Park!
This was the 4th year this amazing event was held, and we are so grateful for the continued community support. A huge thank you to the volunteers from the Strathmore Royal Canadian Legion for cooking, Kickstand and Trellis Youth for face painting and manning the drinks table, Ashford Baker for his energetic Body Movement session, MaxSPL Music for providing music entertainment throughout the event, the Girl Guides for bringing yummy cookies, all of the vendors who attended to provide valuable information and resources, and Rescued Paws for their incredible Mother’s Day photo shoot and for showcasing their adorable adoptable doggos.
May 11–17 is National Mental Health Week, and this year we want to continue breaking down the stigma surrounding asking for help. Mental health struggles can affect anyone, and reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Whether it’s talking to a friend, connecting with a professional, or accessing community resources, seeking support can make a meaningful difference. No one should feel alone in their journey, and together we can build a community where conversations about mental health are welcomed, supported, and encouraged.
Hope to see you all back in 2027 😊
