Medwid Contracting

This is an entire home renovation project that is still in the works but enough of it is completed that I can start sharing some of the progress that has been made so far.

I reworked almost everything in the house starting with painting all the walls and ceilings, repairing and putting in new drywall where necessary, installing new vinyl planking in the front entry, bathrooms, and main living areas. As well as putting in new carpet in the basement and bedrooms.

All the finish carpentry elements have been updated throughout the house including baseboards and casings, oak handrails and shelving, all new interior doors, refinished antique door, front entry exterior door, and HD blinds on all the windows.

Each bathroom has also been completely renovated with new fixtures throughout, tile work on the upstairs tub surround, and finally I refinished the existing storage and vanities.

There's photos at the end of the post showing what the house looked like before I got into the renovation. It's been a lot of work so far but its been enjoyable when you start to see the whole project coming together.

It's been sometime since any new work has been posted, but this is kitchen renovation from a while back that involved refinishing the cabinets, painting throughout the kitchen, and installing new luxury vinyl tiles.

This is another renovation project completed earlier this year, I replaced all the flooring throughout with new vinyl planking and carpet, as well as doing the painting and repairing drywall throughout the whole home. There's before pictures at the end of the post. It was a fun project to work on and a much needed improvement for the new home owners.

It's been a while again since posting, but I've recently changed my business name from Medwid Flooring to Medwid Contracting.

Hopefully this will help clarify all the services I provide for potential customers since many people are wanting more than just the flooring done for their home renovations.

I provide contracting services which include flooring, painting & drywall, and finish carpentry for residential renovation projects in Selkirk, MB and surrounding communities.

This is a rental property renovation that I just completed that was a couple months in the making. The property was in serious need of repair from top to bottom.

I was able to tackle almost every aspect of the renovation process including: removing all the damaged carpet and laminate, repairing the sub floor upstairs, repairing extensive drywall damage throughout, removing and replacing all the damaged baseboards and trim, replacing or repairing every interior and exterior door in the house, installing new glue down vinyl planking upstairs, installing new carpet up and downstairs, priming and painting the entire interior of the house, cleaning the majority of the house, and general handy-man type repairs throughout.

It was a lot of work but it was worth it to have the opportunity to turn the place around for the next home owner.

Another project from last year and in the same development as the last post, I installed these click vinyl tiles throughout the entire townhouse and down the stairs. It was quite an improvement and the product was really nice to work with.

Haven’t posted in a while, but here’s a project from late last year. Installed new vinyl plank flooring and painted throughout this town house including the kitchen cabinets.

This was probably one of the bigger projects I’ve done in a little while, bringing this older trailer back to life. Tackled almost every aspect of renovating the place starting with building a new set of steps, installing a new back door and lock sets, repairing substantial water damage, redoing a sunk in bedroom ceiling, repairing loose plaster over wood panelling that required mudding throughout, sub-floor repair, walling off a doorway, cleaning, priming and painting throughout including kitchen cabinets, and finally prepping the floors and installing glue down vinyl planks through the whole trailer. The owners have plans to fix the place up even more but I helped them get the ball rolling. There’s also some before and after photos at the end of the post.

Finished this sunroom Reno a little while ago, installed stained tongue and groove pine panelling and custom trim work throughout. As well as SPC vinyl plank flooring, really enjoyed working on this project.
