Yesterday was heavy.

I’m learning that two things can be true:
• I can miss my baby deeply
• And still rebuild my rhythm

Some days that means showing up fully.
Other days it means posting late, moving slower, and giving myself grace.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You don’t need to bounce back.
You just need to keep going—gently.

We’re not starting over.

Today I dropped off my youngest at daycare.
And I cried. Like… couldn’t-hold-it-together cried.

Not because I don’t trust where he is.
Not because I don’t love my job.
But because no one prepares you for how loud your heart gets when you walk away from someone who still smells like home.

Maternity leave doesn’t end cleanly.
There’s no switch that flips from “I’m with you every day” to “See you later, buddy.”
It feels more like ripping a bandage off your soul.

And here’s the part no one says out loud:
You can love your kids and still need to work.
You can be grateful and heartbroken.
You can be strong and fall apart in your car after drop-off.

If your chest feels heavy and your mascara didn’t survive the morning—
You’re not failing. You’re grieving a season that mattered.
