East Coast energy met West Coast celebration at the Salt Spring Island Farmers' Institute! (Video reel coming soon )

🪗✨What an absolute joy to watch Mi'kmaq accordion player Edgar Hann and his partner Marilyn Walker (performing as Em Walker) lit up the stage for the Indigenous Peoples Weekend celebration.

Between Edgar’s incredible button accordion jigs and Em keeping the vibrant rhythm on the traditional ugly stick, they brought the crowd to life! It was a beautiful display of culture, storytelling, and community connection.

Tuesday night at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 92 was pure magic! 🌙

🔥 The room was filled with soulful voices, twangy guitars, and the warm spirit of community that makes our island’s music scene so special.

From classic country ballads to original folk tunes, every performer brought their heart to the mic. 💛 Whether you were on stage or in the crowd, thank you for keeping the tradition of live, local music alive and thriving.

It was another unforgettable afternoon of soulful improvisation and community connection at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 92!

The House Band: Frank Huether, Bob Delion, Randall Miron and Jason Kendall laid down a smooth foundation, welcoming talented local jammers to the stage.

From classic standards to spontaneous riffs, the room was alive with the timeless energy of live jazz.
