This is Patrick again from Maple Lawn Cemetery. I know it would have been proper to wish everyone who follows us on Facebook a happy Canada Day, but my dad and I turned out to the cemetery Wednesday to do a day's work, and the day felt busy when it came time to think about updating the cemetery page. I was getting behind in terms of how much time I have been absent from writing an update.

30 May this year we had an incredible post when my father had got hold of a plate made to recollect Louth United Church's centennial. Elizabeth Wismer Quirk showed us a photograph of a mug made for the centennial. I am including a photo of the centennial cup.

Although I didn't respond on Canada Day with an appropriately-timed post, I want to put this up this morning in part because of the missed holiday, and in part, because I am late with an update. I am sure everyone is glad that the economy is beginning to reopen, and I expect to get back into posting more frequently about the cemetery if all goes well. A few concerns I had begun to become clearer for me, as I thought of some questions to bring up with my dad, to get an idea of what would work, following the pandemic lockdown.

I trust I can work through an answer situated timetable to keep dynamic on Facebook. Thanks are owed to Elizabeth for contributing the photo of the centennial coffee cup. I additionally stay thankful to Mrs. Marilyn Bowslaugh, whose understanding of how I can best speak on Facebook keeps on being a wellspring of motivation and I trust she is well.

I trust altogether everybody is having a great weekend and that the summer will get better as the end of July becomes nearer. 😀

It's the full moon overhead here tonight, and I thought I would post a photo from 2019 that commemorates the kind of thing my dad knows how to do, which is to remove a giant tree. 🙂

Peter had been by the cemetery following the high winds that surely affected the trees everywhere they stood. He knew we'd had a giant tree limb topple, and when we were back there, he sawed the limb apart while I dragged what I could out of the way. Here is a photo of how it looked when we'd done what we could with the weather Wednesday.

We'll get back to it. The tree branch toppled one headstone, which of course is unfortunate. We'll stand it upright again

Hi, it's Patrick, Maple Lawn Cemetery's page operator. Owing to the blizzard, I made sure that I spent some time at the cemetery yesterday, shovelling a little snow and that kind of thing. I am presenting a photo to show how high the cover is.

There could be space for a vehicle and a walking path around the church driveway, but the cemetery is clearly under the weight of the snow. It looks nice, all the same. 🙂

While difficult to photograph, I have a photo of how the elevation device looked on the ground. I made an error in the earlier post I wrote about the two of them chainsawing the trees. I had misremembered that we were there on a Wednesday.

Returning to Maple Lawn Cemetery the Wednesday before last, Peter and Dave did some major landscaping. The two sawed down a number of high-up tree branches and did their cleanup a week later.
