Swearing With Scissors

I was asked to do what I could to restore this jacket for the grandsons of a man who has passed. It's not back to brand new but it is wearable once again ❤️

I sewed something for myself 😀 The old cuffs on my hoodie were tatty AF so I cut them off and put new ones on 👍

My sister-in-law requested ribbon skirts for her four granddaughters who are definitely "girly girls" who love pink 💗

My wee-but-mighty mother-in-law turned 70! I made her a new ribbon skirt. She's from Inuvik, NWT, and likes snow an awful lot 😂. The inukshuk is made from various ribbons. The snowflakes I hand embroidered onto the fabric. Today we had a surprise party to celebrate her ❤️

When your very expensive skidoo suit gets attacked by your sled's running boards, all is not lost! It can't be restored to showroom ready but it can absolutely be repaired. Lots of life left in this suit!

This ribbon skirt was commissioned by the cousin of an artist who was murdered in April. The front is one of the artist's paintings her cousin had printed on fabric. The back is a lovely complimentary fabric. A beautiful tribute to a soul taken too soon.

When I say it is an honor to be trusted with projects such as these, I mean it with all my heart ❤️

My friend's son is in scouts and he has a special fire blanket (like a fleece poncho) for wearing around the campfire. My friend asked me to sew her son's badges onto his fire blanket. What a beautiful memento!

My amazing niece graduated Grade 12 and was class valedictorian! She had chosen a beautiful dress and asked me to add ribbons to it. She looked so beautiful 😍

December is always my busiest month for sewing. This year it was made extra busy with work and then extra, extra busy with some family health problems.

As 2024 draws to a close I'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of my customers for trusting me with your sewing, be it a zipper replacement or making memory keepsakes. I'd also like to extend a special thank you to my customers who bring me things to repair "no rush, whenever you get to it." This year I truly needed that grace period ❤️
