On April 18th, our Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Leadership Development team hosted an ECE Changemaker event at RDP.
This event brought the opportunity for Leadership students to present their professional learning and growth in the morning, as well as a meaningful panel discussion in the afternoon.
The six panelists featured key representatives from a variety of key early learning organizations including the Canadian Child Care Federation (CCCF), Association of Early Childhood Educators (AECEA), School Age Care Directors (SACDA), Central Alberta Family Day Homes (CAFDHA), the Alberta Leader’s Caucus, and the Government of Alberta Ministry.
Our ECE Leadership students as well as the 20+ community attendees left feeling inspired and with a deeper understanding of the many ways leadership and advocacy take shape across the early learning sector.

ELCC 2325 2025 Fall Poster Walk! Designing for Inclusion class. Students were given a scenario of a child in their care who was facing a difficulty, and they needed to plan for the group, using universal design for learning, specialized strategies, to support the children they are working with.
Students did an incredible job in both developing the plan, but also providing hands on activities for faculty and their classmates to explore.
