In both World Wars and the Korean War, as many as 12,000 First Nations, Inuit and Métis Canadians served. On this Indigenous Vetrans Day we honour their courage, sacrifice and accomplishments through their contributions to war and peace support operations.

November 11 is coming soon: Today I saw a man selling poppies stop a lady and asked if he could reposition him. In doing so he told this lady they should wear the poppy on their left side red represents the blood of all who gave their lives black represents mourning of those who never had their loved ones come home and the leaf green represents grass and crops growing and future prosperity after the war destroyed so much. The leaf should be placed at 11 o'clock to represent the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the elevente month, the time when WWI officially ended. He was worried that the younger generations wouldn't understand this and that his generation wouldn't be there to teach them. (copy and paste to share just like I did) 🌹 We need to remember those in our current wars too! "
I copied this from someone else. Please do the same in passing this knowledge to those who don't know the meaning.
Lest we forget... 🌺
