Pope Memorial is a small rural school surrounded by beautiful countryside. Our playground includes a sliding hill, a skating rink, playset and soccer field.
Last year, students enjoyed cross country skiing and snowshoeing on the nearby golf course. With our bilingual kindergarten, double FSL, our focus on reading comprehension, Math concepts, Art techniques, Drama, ERC, Science and Technology, we provide a well rounded educational experience. This was an amazing Cycle 2 school trip!
Des élèves de l'école Pope Memorial sont venus visiter les installations de l'aéroport de Sherbrooke et ont eu la chance de voir de près cet hélicoptère 'Black Hawk'.

The return to nature! Cycle one students enjoyed holding our little frogs before we released them. The little frogs seemed quite content as well to be in a new and big environment!

Froglets!! There was quite a buzz in the school when the tadpoles grew their front legs. We had some adjustments to make to our aquarium in order to keep our little froglets from drowning as their gills closed up and they now had lungs.

Our tadpole stage! They eat and they grow. Some Cycle 3 students enjoying the view. The students were intrigued at how the tadpoles' bodies are translucent and they could see the inside them.

Grade 2 students helped remove some tadpoles and release them back into the pond. They couldn't count them, but they were pretty sure there were at least 200 little tadpoles swimming in the aquarium! Too many to keep them all!

Our Cycle 2&3 took part in our annual decoration day, visiting 4 local cemeteries to place 🇨🇦 flags on the graves of our veterans.
Our Legion branch guides the tour, telling stories of war, heroism, and bravery of those who enlisted, many related to our students.
The morning was followed by a pizza lunch provided by the branch. We extend our sincere thanks to all the members that do so much for our school, and for continuing to keep the memories of our local heroes alive in the minds of our students!

All students at Pope had the opportunity this year to observe live caterpillars in their classrooms, and to explore the remarkable transformation these creatures undergo. They followed the entire journey—from tiny, hungry caterpillars to the moment each one formed its chrysalis, and finally to their emergence as beautiful butterflies! 🦋🦋 It was a hands‑on learning experience that sparked curiosity, inspired wonder, and allowed students to witness one of nature’s most extraordinary metamorphoses up close. Release day was exciting! ❤️
