I’m working on a new hanging terrarium, a design I’m currently testing. The idea is to create a unique space for small orchids and tropical plants while adding a decorative touch.
There are still some adjustments to be made, especially to improve ventilation and refine the overall setup. I’m experimenting with different configurations and fine-tuning the concept as I go.
I love the process of creating and adapting, and I’d love to hear your thoughts. What do you think? Would this kind of terrarium interest you?

Dendrobium Nobile – Pure White Beauty 🤍🌿
Here in Canada, winter is in full force. After the recent snowstorms, everything is covered in white, just like this Dendrobium Nobile. Its pure white blooms stand out beautifully, mirroring the winter landscape outside. ❄️

Work in Progress – Castle-Inspired Terrarium
Currently building a new terrarium inspired by Hluboká Castle! The frame is done (28" wide x 16" deep), and next up is the base and the roof.
Still debating between a flat or pointed roof—each has its own charm. Loving how it’s coming together so far! More updates soon.

🌿 "Orchids don’t belong in terrariums"? Really? 🌿
I hear this all the time… that orchids will rot and die in a terrarium. But the truth? A well-set-up terrarium is just an orchidarium in disguise. 😏
It’s not about IF orchids can grow in a terrarium—it’s about HOW you do it. Too much humidity with no airflow? That’s a problem. But get the balance right—light, ventilation, moisture—and they thrive.

Today, I'm presenting the Cattleya Chian-Tzy Loddisong 'Summer Beauty'. This stunning orchid is known for its vibrant flowers and delicate fragrance, adding a touch of exotic beauty and color to any space.
Notes on my orchid care
I grow my orchids in a small greenhouse where they benefit from a controlled environment ideal for their growth. They are cultivated in semi-hydroponics, with a substrate mix of LECA (clay balls) and horticultural pumice, allowing them to thrive in optimal conditions.
Every week, my orchids receive a 15-minute soak in the following solution, following the brand's dosage recommendations (except for the algae, which I reduce by half) and adjusting the pH to 5.8:
- Silicon
- MSU fertilizer
- Fresh algae
- Superthrive
