One-Call Restoration

This is a different kind of employee appreciation post. 👷‍♂️

This is Jimmy. Jimmy has been a restoration technician with us for 3 months now. In those three months, he has provided us with laughs, entertainment, and no shortage of after-work shenanigan stories. We keep Jimmy around for these reasons - his ability to improve crew morale is an often overlooked but important skill in this industry.

How do we know what’s wet? 💦

After a leak, water can hide in building materials as they soak up moisture, making it almost impossible to see with the naked eye. Left on its own, these wet materials will eventually degrade and mold growth is inevitable after a few days.

We use specialized instruments to accurately measure moisture content, find leaks, and determine the area affected.

• Moisture meter - measures water content of materials
• Infrared thermal camera - indicates wet materials by showing temperature differences. Colder areas = strong indicator of moisture.
• Inspection camera - allows us to see into inaccessible spaces to find water and source of leaks.
• Hygrometer - Measures environmental conditions; temperature and humidity level in the air.

When used together, these tools paint a clear picture of where the water damage is and the severity. This information helps us determine how to accurately mitigate water damage quickly before further damage happens.

As a result, we’ve continually been the fastest and least invasive restoration company in Prince George. Meaning clients get their properties back to normal as soon as possible, instead of waiting months to over a year for their damage to be rebuilt, and wondering when their home or business will be back to normal.

Are they certified? 📝

One-Call is a certified firm by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). The IICRC is the only governing body that trains and certifies technicians and firms in property restoration across Canada and the U.S. We maintain firm certification by employing trained technicians, continuing education, and having a robust liability insurance policy.

When a firm is certified, you know they are held to the highest standards in restoration.
