What the f**k do I do now?

That was essentially the question I was left with once I knew drinking was no longer going to be how I got through the hard stuff.

Because quitting drinking was one thing.

Learning what to do with stress, anger, grief, loneliness, celebration, discomfort… all the things I had used alcohol to soften, avoid or move through…. was another.

That’s where the real work started for me.

Understanding my patterns. My stress responses. Learning how to actually be with what I was feeling instead of immediately needing to change it.

And slowly building new ways of responding.

I think this is the part we don’t talk about enough when we talk about sobriety or really, rebuilding after any major life change.

Doing the hard thing is one thing.

Learning how to live differently afterward is the work.

EP 94 of The Deliberate Exchange is all about this: What Happens After You Do the Hard Thing?

Comment ‘EP 94’ and I’ll send it to you.

Sometimes we don’t realize how much we’re carrying until we finally give ourselves the space to put some of it down.

Stress accumulates.

So do emotions we haven’t had time to feel, things we’ve pushed through, conversations we’ve swallowed, and experiences we thought we’d already “dealt with.”
We can understand all of it.
Talk about it.
Journal about it.
And still carry it in the body.

This is one of the reasons I love this kind of breathwork so much.

It’s an active, intentional practice that gives us an opportunity to get underneath some of the thinking and actually move what we’ve been holding onto.
And I’ve seen what can happen when we give ourselves the time and space to do that.
BREATHE. is two hours to do exactly that.
We’ll start with some workshopping and journalling to get curious about what’s actually present for you.
Then we’ll breathe.

And we’ll give ourselves plenty of time afterward to come back down, integrate, connect and let the experience land.

No rushing out the door.
No trying to figure it all out.
Just space.

And with the Fall Equinox marking the shift into another season, it feels like a pretty beautiful time to ask:
What am I ready to put down?
What am I ready to make room for?

If you’re craving community and connection…

This is your invitation.

Every Wednesday, a group of women gathers online for an honest conversation.

Some have quit drinking.
Some are navigating divorce.
Some are rebuilding after burnout.
Some are caregivers.
Some are navigating grief.
Some are changing careers.
Some are simply trying to become someone they’ve never been before.

Different stories.
The same truth.

You’ve already proven you can do hard things.

You know how to survive.
You know how to push through.
You know how to carry more than most people ever see.

But eventually, strength isn’t what you need more of.

You need people who understand what it’s like to build a life after the hard thing.

A place where you don’t have to explain yourself.
Where you can celebrate wins that other people don’t understand.
Where you can admit when you’re struggling without someone trying to fix you.

That’s why I host these free Wednesday Community Calls.

No pretending.
No pressure.
No perfection.

Just women choosing, week after week, to keep becoming who they want to be—with people who get it.

If you’ve been looking for a sign that you don’t have to do this part alone…

This is it.

I GOT A MULLIGAN!

I recently got the chance to re-do one of the hardest moments of my life.

Which doesnt mean that I changed what happened.

But I did get to experience it with the capacity I didn't have back then.

It changed everything I thought I knew about healing.

I tell that story in this week's episode of The Deliberate Exchange.

Comment 'EP 90' and I'll send it your way or listen wherever you get your podcasts.
