Played guitar for 30 years - taught music for 20 years - played over 1000 gigs - earned an Applied Music Diploma from Mohawk College - performed at the Brantford International Jazz Festival, TD Niagara Jazz Festival, (insert city here) Jazz Festival... - adjudicator and clinician at 50th Annual Kinser Jazz Festival - played on dozens of recordings (sometimes for only 8 bars) - played on radio (remember radio?) and TV - toured across Canada multiple times (and survived)
Things I like:
Playing music with friends - playing music with strangers - improvising - teaching - being taught - writing music - helping others write and perform music - playing jazz standards - playing original music - drinking coffee (did I mention that already?) - listening to any kind of HONEST music

SUNDAY Oct. 4th: THE BLUE WATER JAZZ COLLECTIVE — High-Energy Modern Jazz at Parkwood Restaurant! Back by popular demand after three highly acclaimed, sold-out 2026 performances, the Blue Water Jazz Collective returns to Parkwood for a special Sunday afternoon jazz matinee.
The bands powerful grooves and inventive arrangements bring a fresh approach to some of jazz’s most iconic standards, from hard-driving 4/4 and 6/8 swing to Latin samba, high-energy funk and blues shuffles. The program also features Stu’s original hip-hop-inspired composition, “Blue Stew.”
Founding members Stu Steinhart and Rob Gasidlo are joined for this performance by Jay Reed on guitar and Mike Campbell on drums, bringing new energy and a new dimension to the Collective’s distinctive sound.

Tonight! Playing as many notes as I can with zero regard for good taste. With the always excellent and a couple other folks I have yet to meet.
As if this place couldn't get any more magical - a family of trumpeter swans have been hanging out in our ponds for a couple weeks. According to our landlord they vacation here every year for about a month.
