when did women’s bodies become conversation starters?

a reminder for all the moms out there; just rest 🤍

today’s message from the notes app of a mom 🤍

sometimes when I would feel my my guiltiest started look up the stats behind why, and here’s what found…

girlhood goes deeper than most people realize. it’s the heartbreak, the guilt, the excitement, the joy, and hardship, the pain, and everything in between. it’s knowing that this moment will break you and knowing there’s nothing we can do about it regardless of how badly we both want it.

There’s this wild space between holding on and letting go. Like, righttt before you meet your baby.

It’s messy and sacred all at once. You strip off every ounce of modesty, every layer of control, and you just… surrender to it all.

I wrote this poem in that memory, because those moments before your baby is in your hands change you. They pull back your guard and show you a version of yourself that only motherhood can uncover.

Posting this feels a little bare, but maybe that’s the point.

so..I wrote a whole book of poems about motherhood 🙃

this is the first one I’m sharing here, and honestly it feels weird putting it out there.

but motherhood has a way of pulling words out of me that are sometimes soft, sometimes messy, sometimes both at once.

consider this my little soft launch into something i’ve been quietly working on during nap times and late nights. 🌙✨
