The Risks in Children’s Use of Chatbots With growing horror, we have been following news reports of AI chatbots convincing troubled children and adolescents that su***de is a noble and acceptable release from their distress. Welcome to the Bolts Olympics! (Spring Term 2026!)
This is not about competition. It is not about winning or losing. It is about showing up, playing, trying, laughing, and being part of something that moves with you.
Bolts4Kids began during the pandemic, when connection felt harder and families needed something different. Something relational. Something playful. Something that didn’t ask kids to fit into a system, but instead invited them to build the system with us.
What started as simple virtual and in-person activities has grown into a living, breathing community where families, children, and youth co-create what we do together. And at the centre of that is our Spring Term Participants model.
Being a Spring Term participant means you are part of it. Not as a passive attendee, but as someone who helps shape the experience. The activities are not pre-packaged and delivered to you. They are built with you, by you, through curiosity, interest, energy, and connection.
The Bolts Olympics is one expression of that.
A series of fun, flexible, relational “events” where the goal is not performance, but participation. Where kids can jump in, try things out, switch lanes, rest, re-engage, and most importantly—feel part of something without pressure.
You might see teamwork challenges, movement games, creative builds, problem-solving missions, or spontaneous ideas that come straight from the group. Nothing is rigid. Everything is relational.
This is what Bolts4Kids has always been about: meeting kids where they are, building with families, and creating spaces where growth happens through connection, not correction.
So welcome to the Bolts Olympics!
Where participation is the point!
Where connection is the win!
And where every Spring Term brings something new into motion!
