Songbird Rising

Lily and Aven Songbird Rising have been working on a project with their brothers in their other musical group: The Martin Ochoa Quartet. This means they haven't done a lot of performing as a duo. They are excited to complete the episodes for the STORYHIVE program which they collaborate with the boys on. Kids' Eyes on Central Alberta will air this fall!!!!
This month we celebrated a momentous birthday with the twins. Friday March 13th they turned 14!! Ooooh, spooky!
Another big deal for this month is the commemoration of Aven's end of treatment for brain cancer. She has been thriving in most areas of her life and we are full of gratitude for the loving way that Aven and Lily share their blessings.

What an amazing group of youth vendors we saw at the Westlock Junior Market this year! It was so nice to meet so many cool youth and make new friends!

Lily and Aven are excited to participate in Westlock's Junior Market Program this coming Saturday at 10AM! They have the best sound tech, DJ Panda Kub, joining them! They are thrilled their youngest brother has chosen a business name, and he too will join them on stage when not selling his treats.
The Martin Ochoa Quartet will be filming for their project 'Kids Eyes on Central Alberta' that was selected as part of Telus' STORYHIVE program!

Lily and Aven are honored to participate in the Remembrance Day Ceremony in Sandy Beach. With grateful hearts we remember the sacrifices made for the freedom we enjoy.

Lily and Aven from Songbird Rising are wishing everyone a happy and safe Halloween! Dressed as Shego (Aven) and Athena (Lily), they hope to greet some friends this evening in Onoway!!!

This past Sunday, Songbird Rising and their brothers performed as The Martin Ochoa Quartet at the St. Albert Interfaith Connections annual meeting and service project.
Representatives of all faiths gathered to discuss family and shared values before joining together to assemble care kits for families in transition and crisis. After performing, the children helped build the kits and added personal messages of hope.
Singing in Spanish, the Quartet was touched by the warmth and love shared by everyone who gathered that day.

Songbird Rising got a sweet surprise at the Bountiful Farmers' Market on Friday! Not only was their college sister in the audience but they got to see the grandparents of some VIPs from Nova Scotia!!!!! What a fun surprise and a great memory for the entire family.
The Williamsons let the kids use their awesome tree house in the video "Send Me" that they covered as the Martin Ochoa Quartet when we lived in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

Songbird Rising loved bringing their brothers on stage near the end of their set to jam together as the Martin Ochoa Quartet.
