Redefining Traditional Therapy by creating authentic and genuine relationships with our clients!

As a recovering people pleaser, this quote is something I come back to often to regroup my thoughts 🍑✨

When we talk about healing our people-pleasing parts, we often discuss prioritizing our own needs, being honest, and moving with intention instead of being led by guilt. What is often the hardest part, though, is learning to vulnerably allow yourself to not be liked.

People pleasing is a protective mechanism that allows you to shapeshift into the version of yourself that will make the most people happy. When rejection inevitably comes, it can be easy to focus on the frustration that someone doesn’t appreciate your efforts… bypassing the deeper fear that someone doesn’t appreciate you.

Learning to love yourself as the ripest, juiciest peach you can be, while acknowledging that someone is still going to hate peaches, means learning to turn off your ability to shapeshift and simply be who you are. Not because rejection will end, but because you know you are still a whole person despite it 🤍

The Kindred Roots community has come to know and love Jess for the warmth, kindness, and welcoming presence she brings to our front desk. But if you know Jess, you know her gifts extend far beyond that role ✨🤍🌱

We are so excited to share that beginning this July, Jess will be offering Energy Healing sessions, available to book through our website! 🥹🥳

In addition to her formal Level II Reiki training, Jess incorporates Chakra Support, Sound Vibration, Mantra, and other holistic healing practices into her work. Her approach is intuitive, compassionate, and deeply grounded in supporting the whole person.

The Kindred Roots team has experienced the impact of Jess’s gifts firsthand. She has often helped us find balance, relief, and restoration during challenging seasons and after particularly difficult days. We believe that when offered alongside therapy, her work has the potential to support clients on an even deeper level as they move through their healing journeys 🫂🌼

We can’t wait for our community to experience the care, presence, and healing energy that Jess brings to every session 💓

Sessions with Jess will be available at the Kindred Roots Healing Hub every second Monday! Book now via Jane App! 👏🏼

June holds both Pride Month and Indigenous History Month, and while these observances matter deeply, at KR, inclusivity is not something we turn on for a month and set aside for the rest of the year.

It is a commitment. A responsibility. A way of showing up ✨

We believe that every person deserves to move through the world with dignity, safety, belonging, and access to care… Not because they’ve earned it, and not because it’s popular… but because it is a fundamental human right 💓

Creating truly inclusive spaces isn’t about having all the answers; It’s about being willing to learn, to listen, and to challenge our assumptions. It requires taking accountability when we get things wrong, and to sit with discomfort. It means being changed by what we discover, and to keep doing that work over and over again 🌱

At Kindred Roots, we know that understanding the human experience requires us to see the world through lenses different from our own. We are committed to remaining curious, humble, and open as we continue learning from the diverse communities we are privileged to serve 💡

Pride is not a phase… Reconciliation is not a checkbox. Inclusion is not a trend 👏🏼

They are ongoing practices that shape how we work, how we care, and how we build community every single day of the year.

We are truly privileged to serve, learn and grow with you all 🪄

The ability to facilitate big changes during my maternity leave has only been possible because of the incredible KR family 💓✨

I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by a team of generous, hardworking, and deeply supportive people who are just as committed to the vision of Kindred Roots as I am. Their dedication, care, and willingness to step up continues to be the magic that makes all the difference 🪄

And a special thank you to the partners of the KR crew, who have also continued to generously volunteer their time, energy, and support along the way. This community truly is something special 🦄

Eleven has always been my lucky number 1️⃣1️⃣

My husband and I started dating on January 11, and we got engaged on July 11. Our son was born February 11. Our business manager, and I make numerical business decisions around the number eleven (no… I’m not joking!) 🍀

So, when we were given the opportunity to acquire 3 more offices in Okotoks, taking us to 11 offices… it felt like fate ✨

Thank you to for helping us celebrate the exciting next chapter with the yummiest funfetti cake (my favorite… because I’m still 11 at heart 🥲)

New office designs to be revealed soon! 🥰

Sharing for all of the future mamas that have wondered if they have options to manage fears and mental health needs through the perinatal journey 🍼💕

I know there are so many questions about C-Sections, the choice to have one, the pre and post care, navigating our health care system… the list goes on and on!

Feel free to ask me anything and I will do my best to answer as honestly as possible ❤️✨
