The Creative Ride

🍂 Fall Learn to Ride classes are kicking off soon, and we still have space available! If your little one loves bikes, but aren't quite ready for the Nanaimo BMX track or Stevie Smith Bike Park yet, these programs are for them.

Whether they are brand new to two wheels or looking to build the confidence to ride safely, we have a level that fits. All classes are indoors in the Centennial Building at Beban Park, with the last 2 classes taking place at the Stevie Smith Bike Park.

Level 1: Balance Bike Skills (Ages 2–5)
Learn to ride. We focus on comfort, proper helmet fit, and mastering the basics like balancing, stopping, and gliding.
Tue, Sep 29–Nov 10 | 1:30–2:30 PM

Level 2: Pedal Power Development (Ages 3–6)
For kids ready to build confidence with pedaling, steering, and braking. We'll introduce foundational bike park skills like front wheel control and pumping over small features.
Tue, Oct 20–Nov 17 | 3–4:30 PM

Level 3: Pedal Power Progression (Ages 7–12)
Designed to take kids from "I can pedal" to “riding is awesome.” Intro to pumping and cornering movements, and riding with total control.
Tue & Thu, Sep 29–Oct 13 | 3–4:30 PM

EVELYN OOMS MEMORIAL RACE 2026 @ VICTORIA BMX

What a day at the track! The annual Evelyn Ooms Memorial Race brought out a great crew of riders, plenty of racing, and the kind of energy that makes BMX so much fun.

Here’s a collection of shots from yesterday’s racing. Big thanks to everyone who showed up, lined the fence, cheered, raced, and helped make it a memorable day.

Sunday July 12th - BC Championships at Nanaimo BMX. Our first time hosting a UCI / Cycling BC event and it was a huge success. I got out on the track to capture some of the action. Tag your friends.

Saturday July 11th - PCR #7 at Nanaimo BMX. I was racing as well, but pulled the camera out and got a few riding shots as well as some candids around the track. Tag your friends.

The third stop of the Vancouver Island Challenge series brought together riders and families from all 4 Island tracks for an outstanding day of racing at Oceanside BMX.

I wasn't racing, neither were my kids, I wasn't announcing, figured id pull out the camera and capture some moments.

The crew had the best looking trophy team pits in Chilliwack. I designed and supplied these in 2024 and they are still looking great at the races.
