My Bookish Buys Monday 📚✨
Because apparently my TBR and my self-control are not on speaking terms again.
This week’s little stack of literary temptations:
📖 The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion by Beth Brower (Volumes 1 &2) — giving whimsical, mysterious journal energy and I’m already intrigued.
📖 You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao — I just know this one is going to emotionally destroy me in the most beautiful way.
📖 Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare — because sometimes you simply need a classic dose of dramatic love and tragic poetry.
My wallet may be crying, but my reader heart is thriving.😍
Which one should I read first? 💜

FICTIONAL CRUSH FRIDAY ✨
I finished reading Pride & Prejudice last month and now I completely understand why Mr. Darcy has been the blueprint for fictional men for centuries. At first, he seemed proud, distant, and impossible to like, but the more I read, the more I realized he’s one of the most honorable and quietly devoted characters ever written. Mr. Darcy isn’t loud with his love. He doesn’t try to charm everyone in the room. But when he loves, he loves deeply, sincerely, and with unwavering loyalty. And when he said “You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you”, I fear I became emotionally attached immediately.
Safe to say Mr. Darcy is officially included in my Book Boyfriend list. 😍💜📚
Tell me honestly, did you fall for Mr. Darcy too?

Thirsty-Thought Thursday ✨
Reading is one of the most personal experiences. A book that changes someone’s life might leave another reader feeling nothing. And honestly? That’s the beauty of stories. We all come to books with different emotions, experiences, expectations, and moods. So it makes sense that we don’t all walk away with the same feelings. If everyone loved the same books, the reading community would be incredibly boring. Different opinions make reading conversations interesting.
What’s one book everyone loved, but didn’t work for you?

The Wraith King by Juliette Cross
4⭐
A beautiful cover drew me in, but the rich world-building and emotional journey made me stay. 💜 The Wraith King delivers political tension, prophecy, and a slow-burn romance between a Light Fae princess and a Dark Fae king. If you love character-driven fantasy with immersive lore and arranged-marriage tension, this one is worth the read.

Trope Talk Tuesday ✨
These tropes will always have a chokehold on me, from enemies who absolutely hate each other, until they don’t, to morally grey characters who make questionable decisions but somehow still win our hearts. These tropes never fail to pull me into a story and keep me up way too late reading.
What trope immediately makes you pick up a book?

Mood Reader Monday ✨
This week I’m leaning into gothic classics energy 🕯️📖 So this week I’m stepping into the dramatic world of Wuthering Heights.
So tell me in the comments, what is your current read this week?

February wrap-up 💜✨
Immersed myself in the wit and longing of Pride and Prejudice (my very first immersive read 🕯️📜 — 10/10 would time-travel again), then stepped into the dark, delicious magic of The Wraith King. From Regency slow burn to swoony fantasy king, my February had range.

4.5 ⭐️
Foxglove by Adalyn Grace
Foxglove completely stole my heart in a way I wasn’t ready for. Adalyn Grace somehow made this sequel darker, more enchanting, and even more emotionally rich than Belladonna, and I’m honestly obsessed.
This book felt like slipping back into a world where every detail glitters with beauty and danger. I loved how the mystery deepened, how the stakes sharpened, and how the relationships became even more tangled and tender. Signa and Death’s dynamic? I devoured every moment. Their tension, their loyalty, their aching pull toward each other, it’s the kind of romance that hovers between a sigh and a heartbreak.
And then there’s the atmosphere:
mist-covered manors, opulent balls, whispered secrets, a thread of death-magic curling through every scene. Grace writes with such lush imagery that it felt like reading inside a dream, one both beautiful and a little terrifying.
What really stayed with me was the theme of choosing who we become, even when the past reaches out with sharp, familiar claws. Every character had a moment that made me pause and breathe a little deeper.
This sequel reminded me why I love gothic romantasy so much. It’s dramatic, emotional, eerie, and heartfelt in all the right places, a story that lingers like perfume on silk long after you close the book.
If you love gothic romance, shimmering magic, morally grey love interests, and mysteries wrapped in velvet, Foxglove is an absolute must.
✨ I can’t wait to continue this journey in Wisteria.

Thirsty-Thought Thursday 💭📚
Low engagement makes you question everything, but I’m choosing passion over pressure. I started this for the love of books, and I’m staying for that same reason. If you’re a small creator, you’re not alone. 💜

Witty, slow-burn, and unexpectedly comforting 💜✨
This story reminded me that first impressions aren’t always the full story, and that growth is the real romance. A classic that feels softer (and funnier) than I expected.

Some readers follow a TBR.
I follow my mood. 💜
Comfort, nostalgia, drama, depth, or something unsettling, the right book always matches the feeling.

Meet The Bookstagrammer
Hi, I’m Marich 👑✨
I’m a SAHM of two: a 6-year-old boy and a 10-month-old baby girl. I am professionally sleep-deprived, emotionally supported by iced matcha and books. I’m a Filipina living in Canada for 7 years 🇵🇭🇨🇦. I’m originally from Cebu, PH, born and raised and I migrated to Canada to be with the love of my life.💜 I’m a polyglot. I can speak 4 languages: Binisaya, Tagalog, English, and French. I’m an INFP 4w5, a soft, poetic introvert with main-character feelings and villain-origin overthinking. Basically, I’m a sensitive artist + overthinking philosopher in one soft-spoken human. I’m a fantasy & romantasy reader because I love reading about fictional, magical worlds with dragons, elves, fairies, and other mythical creatures. I’m a librocubicularist, someone who reads in bed “for 10 minutes” and wakes up emotionally devastated at 3 a.m. Aside from reading, I also love writing and photography. 📸🖋️
If you’re here for dragons, yearning, slow burn romances, thoughtful book reviews, and cozy reads — welcome. Let’s be book besties.💜📖
