“Allison you need to post more controversial things if you want higher engagement”

But what if I don’t want to? What if I simply want to share decluttering and organizing advice without setting the internet on fire?
What if I want to simply help people reclaim the space in their homes so they can finally F-ing relax and enjoy their lives?
As a Canadian content creator I don’t make a penny from views on any of my platforms. The only time I get paid is when I work with brands and create content for them. (And I also get a very small percentage when you all shop my Amazon links, or other affiliate links too.)

But the truth is I’m not getting a ton of brand deals cause my engagement isn’t as high as they want it to be. Brands want to see a gazillion comments and shares and saves on everything I post.

So I’m reaching out to you, my community to ask what you want to see. What would get you to comment more and share more and save more?
If you’ve made it this far down then 🩷 THANK YOU 🩷 and please tell me what you want to see from me!

Also, apparently I’m old now cause I had to get glasses for both the computer and to “wear all the time” 😫
I assume the constant dizziness will wear off when I get used to them 👓

As much as I love celebrating my kids, I don’t love buying the same things over and over again. 🎈

With four kids, birthdays seem to happen on a loop around here, so I’ve gotten into the habit of reusing our foil balloons year after year. It’s a simple way to save money, cut down on waste, and avoid accumulating more party supplies than we actually need.

Most people don’t realize you can deflate foil balloons through the valve instead of popping them. It takes a little patience the first time, but once you learn how, it’s a game changer.

Do you reuse party decorations, or are you team one-and-done?

New game 👉🏻 Take a shot every time I say “corner cabinet” 😂😂😂
But srsly the key to organizing ANY area is to make sure you’re maximizing and optimizing your space. As a pro organizer who has worked in hundreds of homes these shelf risers are a great tool for that and are almost always in my trunk when I go declutter and organize my clients!

🚫 No instructions
🚫 No precooked meals
🚫 No babysitters booked
🚫 No schedules made

Looking forward to my next trip this summer where I will once again simply walk out the door and leave it in his hands 🙌🏻

I stuck this stick on bin to this corner cabinet four years ago and we STILL love and use it. We’ve since upgraded our toaster oven to an air fryer but the oven mitt and trivet are still there and used almost daily.
The best organizing system is 💯 the one that you can maintain ❣️

Work with your kids, not against them. 💜

As a professional organizer, I’ve never walked into a family home that didn’t have an overflowing stuffed animal collection. 😂

The thing is, stuffies aren’t usually just clutter. They’re comfort items, bedtime buddies, souvenirs, and little pieces of childhood. Which is why forcing kids to get rid of them before they’re ready often creates more stress than solutions.

Instead, I love finding ways to work with my kids, not against them. For us, that meant using a bean bag chair cover to store all the stuffies. It keeps them contained, gives them a home, and doubles as extra seating for reading or lounging.

Sometimes getting organized isn’t about getting rid of more. It’s about creating systems that work for your family. 💜

Comment STUFFIES and I’ll send you the info if you think this would be helpful in your home

But seriously, this little baking hack makes so much sense. 🤯

As a professional organizer, I find my brain constantly bouncing between two competing organizing philosophies:

✨ Don’t keep duplicates. Keep things simple.

✨ Hack your laziness by making your home work for you and leaning into your existing habits.

In this case, it kind of annoys me to have my regular flour container and a separate little flour shaker sitting right beside each other. 😂

From a purely organizing perspective, it feels a little redundant.

But from a hack your laziness perspective?

It’s brilliant.

I love not having to grab a spoon every time I need to dust flour on the counter. Having a small mason jar ready to go makes baking just a little bit easier, which means I’m more likely to actually use it.

And that’s really what organizing is all about.

Not following someone else’s rules.
Not having the fewest things possible.
Not having a Pinterest-perfect kitchen.

It’s about optimizing your home for the way you actually live.

Sometimes that means keeping the duplicate.

Sometimes the most organized solution isn’t the most minimal one, it’s the one you’ll actually use.

So I’m going to live with my duplicate flour situation for a while and see how it goes. 😅

Would you do this, or would it drive you crazy?

🚫🔋 No Power? No Problem 🔌
Just kidding, I find it really annoying when we lose power because of a strong breeze 🙄

Here is what I have in my No Power Box:
✔️ Battery operated candles
✔️Fairy lights
✔️ Flashlights
✔️ Telephone
✔️ Candles & lighter

What should we add to this?

Another annoying but easy task checked off the list of things I’ve been avoiding 😂
