Did you know that your tongue’s position might be the hidden cause of your head, neck, and shoulder discomfort?
Just like we focus on maintaining good posture for our neck and back, proper tongue posture is equally crucial for your overall alignment.
Why?
Because the position of your tongue impacts your breathing, sinuses, head, neck, and even shoulders.
When your tongue rests incorrectly, like at the bottom of your mouth or pushing against your bottom teeth, it can throw off the alignment of your jaw, neck, and even your shoulders.
This can lead to tension, uneven shoulders, and forward head posture.
The correct tongue posture is simple: Rest your tongue fully against the roof of your mouth, just behind your front teeth. Your lips should stay sealed, and your teeth should rest slightly apart, without pressure on the front teeth.
This helps create proper alignment, starting with the jaw and extending through the entire body.

The jaw and pelvic floor are both involved in how your body stabilizes the spine. They’re part of your core system.
When there’s an imbalance in the jaw like a lingual dysfunction or missing teeth or improper tongue for posture or chewing mechanics it changes head posture.
Conscious work on its own can take years because the original jaw imbalance does not stay isolated. Every joint above and below it reorganizes to keep the body upright, balanced, and functional.
Most professionals miss this entirely because they treat the painful area as the problem.
That is why isolated rehab often takes years and still misses the source.
That is why the solution has to address the system, not just the symptom.
The Fix My Posture Bundle works from the top down through the jaw and from the bottom up through the feet, so the body stops reinforcing the same compensation pattern from both ends.
Once the nervous system receives better input, rehab becomes faster, cleaner, and more efficient. Start with the Fix My Posture Bundle.

Where your tongue rests dictates how your lower jaw sits. If your tongue drops from the roof of your mouth, your airway narrows. To keep oxygen flowing, your brain instantly pushes your head forward. Now, your neck muscles are forced into overdrive just to hold your head up against gravity.
Consciously trying to hold your tongue up works—until you get distracted. The second your focus shifts, your brain reloads its faulty default pattern.
We just published a brand new guide breaking down the exact biomechanical chain between your tongue, your airway, and your stubborn neck tension (and why conscious effort always plateaus).
Plus, we included a 10-second self-test to reveal exactly what your default pattern is doing right now.

Why do most stability exercises fail?
Because they ignore the feet. 🦶
If you are dealing with balance challenges, dizziness, or vertigo, your inner ear is only half the story.
The vestibular system relies on the information it receives from your joints and muscles to maintain spatial awareness. In this video, watch what happens to a patient struggling with the Romberg test when we finally address her foot mechanics.
By introducing therapeutic insoles, we immediately improved her sensory input and relationship to gravity.
This is why foot posture is the foundation of overall balance.

Most people think jaw clenching starts in the mouth, but research proves the jaw is simply where the problem shows up.
A 2024 paper in Frontiers in Neurology describes bruxism as a complex neurological behavior linked to nervous system arousal and airway restriction rather than just a mechanical tooth issue.
When your brain senses your airway closing at night, it forces your jaw to clench to keep you breathing, leading to morning headaches, TMJ pain, and severe neck tension.
The key to stopping this destructive pattern is not just protecting your teeth with a standard guard, but changing the neurological input your brain receives.

How to mew correctly with proper tongue posture for jawline, breathing, and posture. This video covers exactly where the tongue should rest, the NG sound technique to find correct position, and why hold time matters for breaking clenching habits.
Most people rest their tongue at the bottom of the mouth pushing against the lower teeth. Proper tongue posture means resting the entire tongue, including the back, flat against the roof of the mouth, with no pressure on the front teeth.
When the tongue holds correct position consistently, it improves nasal breathing, supports the jaw, and aligns the head over the body. When the tongue rests low, the jaw drops back, the head shifts forward, and the rest of the body compensates with shoulder and neck tension.

Try this: clench your jaw, then check how your hips feel.
Now release it and notice what changes.
Most people think hip tightness is just a hip problem. But the body works as a connected system. When the jaw tightens, the head position changes, the neck stabilizers brace, and the pelvis often compensates to keep you balanced.
That’s why the same hip can keep feeling tight even after stretching. You may be treating the output, not the input. If the jaw is still driving the pattern, the compensation keeps coming back.
Better posture is not just about stronger muscles. It is about better input, better sequencing, and a nervous system that stops overreacting. That is why exercises alone are not always enough

The position of your tongue changes the tension through your throat, neck, and nervous system every time you swallow, breathe, or rest.
One of the key muscles involved is the palatoglossus, which connects the tongue to the soft palate and influences the upper airway and vagus nerve pathways linked to digestion, breathing, and autonomic regulation.
When the tongue sits low, the jaw drops.
The head shifts forward.
Neck muscles tighten to stabilize the skull.
The pelvis and feet begin adapting underneath that new position.
The body does not separate posture from breathing or tongue posture from nervous system function. It organizes all of them together.
That is why chronic mouth breathing, poor tongue posture, and unstable jaw position often show up with forward head posture, neck tension, digestive issues, and full body compensation patterns.
Posture is not just muscular.
It is neurological input repeated all day long.
At night, you cannot consciously hold your tongue in the correct position while sleeping. The Functional Activator helps support proper tongue posture during the hours your nervous system is reinforcing patterns the most. Link in bio 👆

According to emerging research, jaw position has measurable effects on pelvic floor activation, foot pressure distribution, and overall postural alignment.
The jaw and pelvis develop from closely related embryological tissues and remain connected through fascial continuity and neural pathways throughout life.
Sensory input from the trigeminal nerve in the jaw feeds directly into brainstem centers responsible for regulating postural muscle tone.
When jaw position shifts, the brain adapts by redistributing tension through the spine and pelvis to maintain balance.
Clinically, this can present as chronic unilateral hip tightness, pelvic rotation, asymmetrical loading through the feet, and recurring mobility restrictions that do not respond to stretching or strengthening.
Treating the hip in isolation often provides temporary relief because the upstream sensory signal remains unchanged.
When the signal continues, the compensation returns.
How do you fix it?
You do not stretch the symptom.
You recalibrate the sensory hierarchy that controls posture.
Restoring accurate input from the base of support, refining visual stabilization, normalizing deep neck signaling, and integrating neutral jaw position allows the pelvis to stop compensating automatically.
When the input changes, the output changes.

Most people think jaw clenching starts in the mouth. But research suggests the jaw may just be where the problem shows up. A 2024 paper in Frontiers in Neurology describes bruxism as a complex neurological behavior, not just a mechanical one.
When the brain senses stress, overload, or poor sleep, it can increase muscle tension throughout the body. For many people, the jaw is one of the first places that tension shows up. That’s why clenching often comes with headaches, neck pain, shoulder tension, and poor sleep.
The key is not just protecting the teeth. It’s changing the input the brain receives.
