Title: IDMS DBA
Remote
Hera Evolution is very successful Company providing technical support at distance. Our services range from been an additional support to the customer team or been in charge of supporting a technical DBMS domain like IDMS, ADABAS, DATACOM, DB2, IMS etc. Since we are growing we are looking for an experienced IDMS DBA to join our team at Hera Evolution. As a Database Administrator you will be responsible for testing, planning, implementing, protecting, operating, managing and maintaining our client's Mainframe IDMS DBMS/tools systems. You will work at distance from you home office through our CLOUD support infrastructure. You will share support activities with the other expert member of Hera Evolution team. You can work full time or part time.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Maintain database logical and physical definitions
• Monitor databases capacity and performance on a regular basis
• Performance database maintenance to apply logical and/or physical changes
• Identify and solve problems in your field of expertise
• Provide development support to application staff
• Participate in client’s Disaster Recovery tests
• Provide 24x7 operational support on a rotation basis
• Define, execute and implement changes
• Install software maintenance in your field of expertise
• Maintain system definitions in your field of expertise
• Monitor system performance in your field of expertise
• Document procedural or alert information for a software product installation
• Conduct compatibility tests of the software in your field of expertise with upgrades of operating system or other software maintenance
Skills:
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience on IDMS databases
• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support role
• Ability to independently research and resolve problems
• Interested in gaining knowledge in IBM Mainframe technology and architecture and of the main components of the z/OS architecture
• Aspiration to learn
• Skills with other database platforms is a plus.
• Fluent in English (Written and Oral)
• Fluent in French (Written and Oral) is a plus.
