Dr. Amlani completed his medical school training at the University of British Columbia in 2016. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine and Rheumatology Training at the University of Calgary. Dr. Amlani provides diagnosis and treatment of patients with inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue disease, vasculitis, gout and crystal arthritis, other inflammatory conditions.

What you don't know about autoimmune diseases: There are 50 known autoimmune diseases affecting two million Canadians, and all are incurable. Autoimmunity disproportionately affects women; ratios vary by condition, but overall, almost 80 percent of people with autoimmune disorders are female. Examples of autoimmune diseases include lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, sjögren’s syndrome and more.

A food pyramid can be used to plan a healthy diet. We should eat more of the foods at the base than the foods at the top. For example, grains, fruits, and vegetable groups are at the base of the pyramid. Meat, dairy, and fat groups are toward the top.
