UROC Trail Report August 7th:

Happy Friday to all of our UROC members. This weekend the Crowsnest 100 MTB and Gravel race is in town. Although they have a pretty extensive course that spans trails at PPK and the York Creek area, there is lots of room for everyone and there are no trail closures for their MTB race on Saturday. Their course is marked with the white pin flags in the photo.

Just a reminder to all of the Trailforks users, that you may need to refresh the Alberta zone on your app to have our new trails at PPK show up on the map. We have tried to put up as much signage as possible, but with quite a few new trails built this year it will take a bit to get all of our signage up to date.

Our trail crew was busy this week working on Sooper Trooper repairing some worn berms and jumps that have taken a beating in this heat and dry conditions. They have also started a new extension to Roots of Hazard and have been fixing up that trail. Trail Crew also shored up the goat trail around the new drop on Black Bird. We will definitely need some moisture and a winter to glue those trails together.

August usually brings smoke into the valley, and with shifting winds it seems to blow in and out with varying degrees of severity. Take care of yourself and make sure the conditions are right for you.
