It has been a sad day for many who follow Colby’s Crew Rescue. Their beloved Big John, who they rescued 5 years ago, has been laid to rest. There is a huge community of horse lovers all in mourning for the loss of the biggest draft horse. He wasn't only the tallest at 6'8 at his shoulder, he also had a big personality and loved getting his photo taken and going on tours. This drawing I created with Big John and his beloved Stardust was made with the intention of selling prints and greeting cards and all the proceeds will go back to the rescue. Fun Facts about me: I have loved horses since I was a young girl. I tell people it was born into me, my great great grandfather James Robert Keene was a big influence on Thoroughbred racehorse breeding. With the final jewel of the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes, coming up on the 7th. It is fitting that 6 of his horses won that prestigious race. He owned Castleton Farms in Kentucky and bred some of the greatest horses, who's bloodlines can still be traced to today's racehorses. Check him out here:

Got my 2 pieces back from the framer, now I'm ready to go to the Calgary Stampede juried art show. I just love how great they look when framed.
