65 Days until Christmas!
This Cranberry square is a perfect addition to your Christmas baking line up. With the almond flavored shortbread crust and gooey cranberry filling, it is perfect for the season.
Instructions:
- Cook cranberries, sugar, and water in a pot on medium heat. Stir frequently and mash your cranberries for about 15 minutes, until your sauce thickens. Let cool.
- Prepare a 9x13 pan with spray oil and parchment paper.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a bowl, mix all ingredients for your crust together untill you have a wet but crumbly mixture.
- Use half to 2/3 of your crust mixture for your base, ( I like a little thicker crust, with just a little on the top ). Pat down into a solid crust. Poke with a fork to ensure your crust doesn't bubble.
- Bake crust for 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven, until the edges are just showing a hint of color.
- Spread cranberry sauce over the hot crust, and sprinkle the top with remaining base mixture.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes at 350 degrees until the top is golden brown.
- Cool completely before you slice into square.
