Another project kicks off in Aberdeen.

When encountering over 6 meters of clay beneath the ground, innovative solutions are necessary. The scope of work has now expanded to include a new basement with a screw pile and slab on grade foundation.

As I walked my kids around the outside of our construction site—the future home of a new hotel—I wasn’t just showing them where walls would one day stand. I was showing them a dream in progress. Right now, it’s just dirt, steel, and outlines on paper, but I wanted them to see what it means to build something from the ground up. I told them that every building starts with an idea, a lot of hard work, and the belief that it’s possible. This isn’t just a project—it’s a legacy, something we’ll be proud of for years to come. And I hope that, even at 9 and 11, they remember standing here, seeing what their dad is building, and knowing that they can dream big too—because one day, it might be them walking their own kids through the beginnings of something great.
