⚠️ Ma*****na, THC & CBD: What Every Cat Owner Should Know ⚠️

With more cannabis products in homes than ever before, it’s important to understand the risks they can pose to our cats.

🚫 THC (the psychoactive ingredient in ma*****na) is toxic to cats. Cats are much more sensitive to THC than people and even small amounts can make them very ill.

Cats die DAILY due to poisoning because they ate their owners w**d.

Signs of ma*****na/THC poisoning may include:
• Extreme sleepiness or unresponsiveness
• Staggering, wobbling, or inability to walk normally
• Dilated pupils
• Drooling
• Vomiting
• Agitation, anxiety, or unusual vocalization
• Urinary accidents
• Low body temperature
• Slow heart rate
• Tremors or seizures in severe cases

⚠️ Edibles can be even more dangerous because they may contain chocolate, xylitol, raisins, or other ingredients that are toxic to pets.

🌿 CBD is not the same as THC, but pet owners should still be cautious. Many products may contain trace amounts of THC, and quality and labeling can vary widely. Research on CBD use in cats is still limited.

Let’s say that AGAIN….research is very limited… in other words there is insufficient data to support its safe doses/uses in cats.

Just because it’s sold online does not make it therapeutic or even safe.

🐱 Never intentionally give your cat ma*****na, THC products, joints, v**e products, oils, gummies, edibles, or smoke exposure.

If your cat accidentally ingests cannabis or a cannabis product, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary clinic immediately. Early treatment can make a big difference.

Please store all cannabis products securely and out of reach—curious cats can get into things when we least expect it.
