Wellness Wednesday: Starting tough conversations as a caregiver
It’s not always easy to know how to begin but starting small can make a big difference. Creating space for open, honest conversation helps build trust and connection over time.
Try this:
➡️ Start with a simple, low‑pressure check‑in
➡️ Ask open‑ended questions (“How are you feeling?” vs. “Are you okay?”)
➡️ Listen without rushing to fix or solve
Sometimes just being present is the most powerful support.
We’re working to create spaces that support both youth and those who care for them.
By contributing to our Capital Campaign, you’re helping expand access to mental health and wellness services in our community.

Wellness Wednesday
Transitioning from school to summer can feel like a big shift!
One simple tip: try creating a light schedule for your days. You don’t need to plan every minute, but having a few small anchors. Waking up around the same time, moving your body, or making time to connect with friends can help you feel more balanced and grounded as your routine changes.
Give yourself flexibility while keeping a little structure.

Foundry Network Leadership Meeting Highlights
Last week, the Foundry Kamloops team had the opportunity to attend the Foundry Network Leadership Meeting, a chance to connect, learn, and collaborate with teams from across the province.
We’re especially proud to celebrate three of our Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) members — Mahi, Rayne, and Thomas — who are now also part of the Provincial Advisory! Their voices, leadership, and lived experience are helping shape services for youth across BC.
Thank you for representing Foundry Kamloops and for the impact you continue to make both locally and provincially!

Wellness Wednesday
Caregivers, don’t forget about you.
When you’re caring for others, it can be easy to put your own needs last but taking time for yourself isn’t selfish, it’s essential. Even small moments to rest, recharge, or do something you enjoy can help you show up with more energy and balance.
You deserve care, too 💙
We’re working to create spaces that support both youth and those who care for them.
By contributing to our Capital Campaign, you’re helping expand access to wellness and mental health supports in our community.
