We’re Hiring!!

The Printing Korner is a local, family-owned and operated print shop that has been serving Waterdown, Burlington, Hamilton, Dundas and the surrounding area for more than 35 years. While we are a commercial printer, we have an “open-door” policy and are more than willing to help anyone with a printing or marketing need. Our courteous and experienced staff strives to give our clients a friendly and personalized service that meets and even surpasses, their printing needs.

Your duties will include digital printing, graphic design, submitting files to vendors, working directly with customers, working directly with press operators and being part of a cohesive team. Experience with Konica Minolta or similar digital printers (aka Digital Presses) using command workstation is an asset.

You will work with the team to execute a wide variety of creative design solutions to meet project needs on time and within budget. You will design and produce print pieces such as flyers, packaging, branding, product catalogs, brochures, sell sheets, newsletters, business cards, postcards, etc.

* Comfortable working on both PC and MAC Platform and converting files to meet requirements

* Self-starter and detail-oriented

* Multi-task and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

* A forward-thinking individual able to perform assignments with minimal supervision

* Work within tight timelines and meet weekly deadlines

* Must be able to manipulate and create files as graphic design using Adobe CC software, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft tools including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

* Must know how to set up pre-press files for printing, colour calibrating, imposition, creating bleeds, crops, etc.

* Knowledge of color theory, layout, and design principles

* Thorough knowledge of printing and preparing art files that meet prepress requirements for separation, and printability

* Read digital print production work order and job ticket for specific instructions

* Design / impose / layout digital files for printing

* Send proofs to customers when required

* Run jobs as per work order

* File artwork using the unique archiving system in place

Requirements:
* A College or University degree in Graphic Design, Digital Print or equivalent work experience.

* Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (CC) - Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat

* Template web design experience is an asset.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Contract
Salary: $18.00/hour to start
Roughly 16 hours /week
