It's a remarkably inspiring book written from a surgeon's personal experience! We're honoured to have Dr Nina Ahuja as our very own McMaster's Head of Department and Clinical teacher!

Introducing Dr. Carl Shen. Carl is one of our PGY-5 residents. He received his Bachelors at Western University and medical degree at University of Toronto. He was always too afraid to make an Instagram account in case he didn’t have what it takes to be an influencer. This is a big step for our oldest and wisest resident.

Meet Dr. Ahmad Sediqi! Ahmad is one of our PGY-2 residents. He stayed home for undergrad and Masters in Toronto before moving to Vancouver to complete medical school. Ahmad loves the outdoors, playing sports and hanging out with his niece and nephew.

Introducing Dr. Lauren Carr. Lauren (PGY-2) hails from Vancouver, BC, and thus loves all things outdoors. Before joining the McMaster family, she studied neuroscience at McGill and medicine at University of Toronto. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, entertaining and being entertained by her dog, and listening to live music. Stay safe everyone!

Meet Dr. Sangsu Han, our best (and only) PGY-4 resident. He completed his undergraduate studies at McMaster University and went to Ottawa for medical school. When not performing administrative tasks as our chief resident, Sangsu is constantly working out. Fun fact: AAO manuals make great weights.

Introducing Dr. Husayn Gulamhusein. Husayn is one of our PGY-3 residents. He did his undergraduate and medical studies at McMaster University and completed a MPH at the University of Newcastle during this time! Husayn completed the GAAS research fellowship with Dr. Ahmed prior to residency. In his free time he enjoys playing hockey and watching all kinds of sports.

Meet Dr. Elizabeth Lee! Liz is one of our PGY-3 residents. She did her undergraduate studies at Queen’s University and medical school at McMaster University. Academically, she is interested in medical education. A self-proclaimed foodie, Liz enjoys trying out new restaurants and cooking in her free time.

Tarek (PGY-1) joins us from the University of Toronto where he completed his MD degree along with his Honours Bachelors of Science and Master of Biotechnology. Prior to medical school, he had a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry. Fun fact: he grew up in Yemen for the first half of his life.
