On Friday, MDR Strategy Group's Director of Public Engagement and AI Strategy, Melissa Peneycad, facilitated an in-depth workshop on AI in the non-profit sector. Together, we built a shared understanding of AI, explored new tools to assess workplace needs, and examined how AI can support (and challenge) the work of non-profits.
Through open discussion, we surfaced common pain points, identified practical solutions, and reframed our mindset around AI by taking a responsible, human-centred approach that considers both its benefits and risks of AI use in the non-profit space.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to learn, share, and strengthen knowledge in this rapidly evolving space.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Edmonton for MDR’s first Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (REDI) in Regulation workshop.
This conversation was both timely and necessary. Together, we shared stories and lived experiences in the Canadian regulatory context. We discussed how the responsibility to educate ourselves and others belongs to all of us, and how we must continue facilitating discussions like this to build stronger, more inclusive organizations that reflect the public they serve.
Our participants brought incredible insights, sharing both personal experiences and industry perspectives on REDI policies. We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to such a vulnerable and thoughtful discussion.
