Urinary issues in cats can become serious very quickly — especially in male cats at risk of urinary blockage.

Frequent litter box trips, straining to urinate, blood in the urine, or peeing outside the litter box may all be signs that something is wrong. A blocked cat is a medical emergency and requires immediate veterinary attention.

Overweight Cats From Our Vet Students !

Did you know that over 60% of pet cats are considered overweight or obese? Extra weight in cats is linked to serious health concerns including diabetes, arthritis, urinary issues, decreased mobility, and reduced quality of life.

Even small changes can make a big difference! Measuring meals, increasing enrichment and play, limiting treats, and regular weigh-ins can all help support a healthy weight.

⚠️ Important reminder: cats should never undergo rapid weight loss, as this can lead to hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver disease), which can be life-threatening. Weight loss should always be gradual and veterinary-guided.

A healthy weight helps cats live happier, more comfortable lives 💚🐾
