Toe Walking Exercise 👣🎯
This simple bean bag challenge encourages children to walk on their heels while keeping the bean bag balanced on their foot, helping promote a heel-to-toe walking pattern, improve balance, and build body awareness.
The final challenge of kicking it into a cone adds an extra element of coordination, fun, and motivation!

Noticing that your child is toe walking? Our pediatric physiotherapy team can assess their movement patterns and provide personalized strategies to support their development.
Reach out to learn how we can help your little one!💙
Yes, core exercises can be a part of physio…but here’s how we make it FUN!!✨👏
Here we’re showing one of our favourite core exercises! The goal is to pick up a bean bag using only your feet and then dropping it into the basket.
While it may sound simple, this is an amazing way to target the core, all while making it fun for little ones!
It also helps to:
✅Improve core stability
✅Enhance coordination
✅Promote hip mobility
✅Support postural control

Have you noticed your baby prefers looking to one side or is starting to develop a flat spot on their head?👶
These may be signs of torticollis or plagiocephaly, two common conditions seen in infants.
➡️ Torticollis occurs when the muscles on one side of the neck become tight, causing a baby to tilt their head or prefer turning in one direction.
➡️ Plagiocephaly (often called “flat head syndrome”) is a flattening of one area of the head, which can develop when babies consistently rest in the same position.
The good news? Early intervention can make a big difference.A pediatric physiotherapist can:
✅ Assess your baby’s movement and development
✅ Improve neck flexibility and strength
✅ Provide positioning and tummy time strategies
✅ Help promote symmetrical movement and head shape development
✅ Support age-appropriate motor milestones
If you have concerns about your baby’s head shape, neck movement, or overall development, our pediatric physiotherapy team is here to help 💛

Flat feet in children…what is considered normal and when should you seek support? 👣
Did you know many babies and toddlers naturally have flat feet, and arches often don’t fully develop until ages 6–10? In many cases, flat feet are a normal part of growing up.
However, if your child has foot pain, tires quickly during play, or trips often, it may be worth looking into. Strengthening the muscles that support the arch can help support balance, coordination and overall foot function.
In this reel, Pankti from our Elora clinic, is sharing 3 fun “arch-building” activities you can try with your child at home:
✨ Tip toe walks✨ Towel scrunches✨ Heel raises
Every foot develops differently, and every child moves in their own way. If you have questions about your child’s foot development or walking, we’re here to help!
