Today, we’re celebrating all the amazing moms, grandmothers, stepmoms, foster moms, and mother figures in our communities.
From the moms who keep things running at home, to the ones responding to emergencies, volunteering in our stations, supporting firefighters behind the scenes, and raising the next generation — thank you for everything you do.
Emergency services often means missed dinners, late nights, weekends away, and unpredictable calls. The support, patience, and strength shown by families — especially moms — never goes unnoticed.
On behalf of Greenview Fire-Rescue, we wish everyone a safe, happy, and well-deserved Mother’s Day. ❤️🚒

⚠️CAUTION⚠️ Please be advised there is a truck and trailer partially blocking one lane on the bridge at roughly km 2-74 on the 2 Lakes Road. It is taped off and cones have been left out.
Road conditions are extremely poor! If you don't have to drive, don't, if you do, please drive with extreme care!

❄️ Winter Outside. Wildfire Season on Our Minds. 🔥
Although the ground is covered in snow, Greenview Fire Rescue is already hard at work preparing for the upcoming wildfire season.
Winter is when much of the critical planning happens - so that when conditions change, we’re ready. Here’s what’s underway right now:
Community Evacuation Planning & Emergency Pre-Planning : We’re building and refining evacuation plans and response strategies to support timely, coordinated action should evacuations be required.
Expanded Wildland/Urban Interface (WUI) Training: More firefighters are being trained specifically for WUI incidents - where wildfire meets homes, infrastructure, and industry.
Sprinkler Protection Planning For High-Risk Communities: We’re updating existing plans and developing new sprinkler protection strategies to reduce risk and improve defensibility in priority areas.
Strengthening Partnerships For Prevention & Mitigation: We’re working closely with Alberta Wildfire and regional partners to identify opportunities to collaborate on prevention, mitigation, and operational readiness.
More FireSmart Capacity - Home Inspections Offered Free to Residents: We’re training additional personnel to complete FireSmart home assessments, offered free of charge, to help residents reduce wildfire risk and strengthen property resilience.
Learning From Last Season: After-action reviews and lessons learned are being folded into our plans - so each season, we’re better prepared than the last.
Wildfire preparedness doesn’t start in spring—it starts now. These winter efforts help ensure our crews, our partners, and our communities are ready for whatever the season brings.

🎄 Holiday Hours Update 🎄
Since a few folks have asked…
Yes — we’re open on Christmas.
And New Year’s.
And every other day.
Because emergencies don’t take holidays, and neither do volunteers.
If the pager goes off during dinner, we go.
If it goes off during dessert, we go.
If it goes off during gift-opening… yep, still go.
24/7/365 — volunteer strong.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Greenview Fire-Rescue Services

🎃🔥 Happy Halloween from Greenview Fire-Rescue Services! 🚒👻
As the streets fill with little ghouls, witches, and superheroes tonight, Greenview Fire-Rescue Services wants to remind everyone to keep safety in mind while having fun!
Here are a few tips for a safe and spooky evening:
🕯️ Choose battery-operated candles instead of open flames for your jack-o’-lanterns.
🚶♀️ Add reflective tape or glow sticks to costumes to help drivers see you.
🏠 Keep pathways and exits clear of decorations.
🚗 Drivers — slow down and stay alert for trick-or-treaters!
Have a fun, fright-filled, and fire-safe Halloween! 🎃🧯
