Grande Prairie Squash Club

Belated congrats to several Grande Prairie Squash Club players who competed in the Alberta Senior Provincial Championships at the Bow Valley Athletic Club in Calgary in April! Six players made the trip including Marc Delacruz (7th Div 11), Gordon Holloway (4th Div 11), Adam Woods (Gold Div 9), Brent Gabert (Consolation Champion Div 8) Champion , John Michaiel (Bronze Div 10), and Jason Braun (Consolation Champion Div 6). Time to start training for next tournament season!

We also finished up our second Ladies Learn to Play Squash Session last week with coaches Shannon Rogolino and Rick Murray. This 4-week program took 12 participants through the fundamentals of the game, meeting new friends, and playing games. Best of luck ladies and we hope to see you on the court soon!

Our winter junior squash session is now complete! Big thanks to all the kids and parents who participated over the past 10 weeks!

A packed house last week at the GP Squash Club Junior Program for "Bring your Parent to Squash Night"! Kids were on the hook to teach their parents how to play and parents had to see if they could still beat their kids at sports. A fun night and a sore morning, we're sure!

Day 3 of the workshop is complete with Yemisi working with our volunteers, coaches, junior program, and ladies community! Thanks again to everyone who came out this weekend and everyone who made the trip!

Day 2 of the Yemisi Olatunji workshop starts at 9am this morning! And don’t forget the exhibition match between Yemisi and two of GP’s finest (Jason Braun and Scott Kloberdanz) starts at 2 pm. Open to the public!
