Right, This quarantine has given me the chance to play with video conference applications : Zoom, Google Meet and GoToMeeting
Zoom is flaky garbage. Flat out. Junk.
www.meet.google.com requires you to have a Google Account, but it's free, easy to use and seems to work pretty well. Kari is using it for her remote teaching
GoToMeeting is slick and has some nice professional features like session recording and pretty advanced attendee management tools. It has a two week trial, and then requires a monthly\annual fee of abou CAD$20-$25 per month.

I prefer GoTo Meeting, but my free trial is over, meaning that I cannot host meetings, but can attend paying user's meetings

It looks like Meet wins for the self-hosted video parties

Zoom, I'll never return back to. when it got glitchy, it all went to hell QUICKLY
