Happy Massage Therapy Awareness Week!
Massage Therapy is an excellent way to prevent injuries in everyday life. Muscle strains, pulls, and tears can occur from doing everyday activities and are a result of muscle tightness or weakness.

Massage Therapy is a great preventative measure to maintain healthy muscles, and reduce fatigue!

Just a quick rave to my older active clients.

It is so rewarding for me to see people living their best life at any age!

But…active seniors have my heart!

Healing from an injury may take longer, participating in strength exercise classes may look more modified, and keeping up with daily activities to maintain basic functional abilities… it takes dedication! It takes persistence, a growth mindset and an elimination of self doubt!

Thank you for sharing your insights and experiences (secrets) to healthy aging! ☺️

I’m excited to keep working with you and helping you reach your goals!

Amazing things happen when you believe in yourself… and you make a choice to never give up!

[10/07/21]   Hey there!

Just a heads up!

We are heading into a busy season for therapists! Clients are wanting to use up their insurance benefits before year end.

Also, I have been receiving referrals from clients for friends and family. Currently, the only way I am able to accept new clients is by prepaid appointment/gift certificates. Availability for new clients will be reserved for 2022.

As I come into the final quarter of 2021, there are still plenty of exciting things to work on behind the scenes!

If you are wanting to order custom print gift certificates and/or wanting to schedule appointments for end of November- into December - now is the time! I have limited availability until the New Year as I will be out of the office Dec 20-Jan 2 (with the exception of a few appointments—if I have accepted your appointment request prior to this announcement-you’re good 😊)

I am very thankful to be keeping so busy. I appreciate each and every one of you! Thanks a bunch! Happy Thanksgiving weekend!

[09/30/21]   Clients will *NOT* be required to show proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID test to enter.

In our office, we are continuing to maintain high standards for infection control measures which includes; mandatory masking, health screening and sanitation protocols prior to personal service for clients and therapists, social distancing as much as possible, cleaning and disinfecting every hour, and proper hand hygiene.

As always, we remain a judgement free zone. Vaccinated. Non vaccinated. Legs shaved. Legs not shaved. It’s all good with me. All clients will receive the same compassionate care and we hope to continue offering professional personal care services as such.

Now remember your mask, wash those hands, and don’t speak moistly 😷

Let’s just take good care of each other, k?

Updating my music playlists!

Believe it or not, some clients love listening to rock n’ roll while receiving deep tissue work! Most clients prefer spa music. Another popular request is classical piano, acoustic guitar or other relaxing instrumental tunes!

Did you know you can request your own melodies?

At your next session, choose your own vibes!

FAQ: What is the difference between Myofascial Release and Massage Therapy?

They have many overlapping results such as relaxation, rejuvenation, and hands on application. However, there are a few differences. Some I touch on in the video and some I will explain below.

Massage is great for relief from specific muscular dysfunctions, relaxation of tension, resulting in reduced pain symptoms and lower stress levels. Myofascial Release addresses the connective tissue structure of the body providing longer lasting results and helping to discover underlying causes.

Using Massage Therapy, we address the localized, tender area where you are feeling soreness. You leave feeling great, but the tension starts to creep back in slowly after time resulting in needing another massage. MFR uses a holistic, full body approach. What is reinforcing those muscles to work extra hard, resulting in structural pull, burning muscle fatigue and soreness?! Very likely, the problem begins with stuck or adhesive connective tissues!

Instead of using 1 modality to reduce pain and tenderness in 1 or 2 localized area(s) (“I want you to work that knot out”), I combine both modalities to work on the entire tension pattern that may be causing the soreness to begin with, before zeroing in on providing relief to a trigger point area.

Both healing practices have many benefits. If you are looking for short term relaxation or stress relief, go for a massage. If you are looking for chronic pain relief or making longer term improvements to your posture, go for an MFR treatment. If you are looking for an integrated treatment using both therapeutic modalities, I’m your gal!

Any questions, let me know!

Story time!!! I know you all love reading my long posts 😆

It’s been 8 weeks since attaining my certification for fascial fitness training! I have been applying the principles to my recovery routine and the results have been awesome!

Last week, my job was more physically demanding than usual, and I have to tell you guys!! By Friday, my joints felt less stiff and my muscles were way less sore than expected! 💪

We leave for summer vacation this weekend so I pushed my weekly appointment limits! I was nervous it would impact my client experience, but using fascial focused training as a physical and mental recovery tool, I was able to face the challenge, and noticeably improve my capabilities- without injury or setback!!!! 🙌🏻

On top of myofascial pain reduction, faster soft tissue repair/recovery cycles, and more mental focus, I have noticed I am sleeping better (well when my toddler isn’t waking us up lol), I am definitely feeling way more limber each morning and throughout my day between clients as my flexibility and mobility continues to improve! I’m gaining more strength and confidence to try advanced yoga asanas or push my kms! Staying consistent has been really beneficial!

If you are a strength and conditioning type of athlete needing more recovery tools in your toolbelt, or you have a physically demanding career, or you maybe have noticed the toll that the inevitable aging process has taken on your body over time— I highly recommend adding yoga, myofascial selfcare and fascial focused training to your weekly/daily routine!

Thank you all for your patience while I continue to self practice and work behind the scenes to eventually offer an up levelled, new approach to remedial home exercise and movement rehabilitation 🤠

Hope everyone has a great week staying inspired and focused on long term goals! If I can do it while feeling better, you can do it while feeling better too ☺️

New report aims to make musculoskeletal health a global priority

Global health system reform!

There is a growing demand for curative therapies for MSK health conditions. As a professional, it is so important to me to maintain scope of practice while extending research based evidence for non‐surgical and non‐pharmacologic interventions for various MSK health conditions. Such evidence is needed to inform clinical care and primary health services which first requires regulatory governance and acknowledgment!

Could fascia bodywork really be the “missing link” in healthcare?!
