Myth: “I’m giving my nails a break so they can breathe.”

I hear this all the time, and it’s one of the biggest nail myths!

The truth is, your nails don’t actually breathe. Nails are made of dead keratin (just like your hair), so they don’t need oxygen.

What they do need is moisture and proper care.

If your nails feel thin or weak after removing enhancements, it’s usually not because they needed to “breathe.” It’s often caused by things like:
* Peeling or picking the product off
* Improper removal
* Over-filing
* Dry, dehydrated nails

The best way to keep your natural nails healthy is to:
1. Use cuticle oil daily
2. Have your enhancements removed properly
3. Keep up with regular maintenance
4. Protect your hands from harsh chemicals when possible

If you love wearing your nails done all year, you don’t have to take a break just to let them “breathe.” Healthy nails come from proper application, good aftercare, and safe removal—not from leaving them bare.
