Hand cut Welo opal on an adjustable Seafoam band. It's official, I love it! Introducing the Splash ring✨💦✨

This was such a pleasure to work on - my first Aussie opal! The greens and blue are just stunning.

I set out to create a piece that felt 'grown'. I carved the stone freeform and engraved some tiny leaves to frame it.

Initially I felt like the opal was a leaf, but somehow I changed my mind and it felt more like an aetherial fruit by the end of my time working on it. Either way, I love how it turned out, what do you think?

Water drops are apatite, iolite and peridot. All lapidary and silver work is done in Edmonton, Alberta. My dream nose wear, perhaps yours as well?
