I want to change how we elect our MPs for the benefit of all Canadians. There are many other ways to elect our MPs that are honest and effective.

We’ve had enough false majorities. Proportional representation is how we make power reflect the people, not just the parties.

Curious what that could look like in practice? 🤔

Here’s a quick breakdown of the three most popular PR systems used around the world.

Hope for our democracy starts with how we vote. It’s time to talk about proportional representation and real change.

I get it. We're all tired of voting ❌against❌ someone instead of ✅for✅ someone. It's a sentiment I keep hearing while knocking on doors in Edmonton-Strathcona.

Strategic voting has become the norm under our outdated first-past-the-post system. BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY! countries like New Zealand have shown us that proportional representation is possible, and that people can vote with both their hearts and their heads. 🥰

I'm listening to you. And I'm committed to real electoral reform that puts PEOPLE first—not party interests.

Last week, I was honored to attend a Candidate Meet-and-Greet with the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. There I met NDP candidate for Edmonton West, Sean McQuillan, and we had a lively discussion about electoral reform.

Ultimately, we both agree that a better system of voting would result in better representation. Right now, many of us feel forced to choose between two undesirable outcomes.

"What happens when you do that," Sean said, "is you're losing community voice... you're losing your area's representation."

Civil discourse between politicians is sorely lacking in Canada. Voting for me this federal election is a vote to change that.

This entire election campaign couldn't have been possible without the support of my friends, family, neighbours, and colleagues. I'm thrilled with all of the connections I've made and being able to hear people's different political perspectives.

Now, to thank you for your support, I'd love to invite you to an event where we can celebrate everything that's been accomplished so far.

Of course, you know how passionate I am about proportional representation, so let's take this opportunity to have some fun! We'll run a mock election with the drink menu, so you can see just how different systems of voting impact results.

Does diversity slow down government? Maybe. But that’s not the right question. Under proportional representation, we get more choice, better representation, and governments that actually have to work together.

Compromise isn’t weakness. It’s democracy done right.

Let’s raise the bar. Let’s build the government we deserve.

Feeling ignored by politicians? You're not alone.

In our first-past-the-post system of voting, too many people feel like their votes don't matter. In this video, I break down the three big reasons why:

1. Safe seats: where the outcome feels predetermined.

2. Swing ridings: where parties focus all their energy.

3. Wasted votes: when your ballot doesn't impact the result.

It's time we talked about electoral reform.

Curious how we can change the way we elect MPs in Canada?
Alberta used to do things differently, so improving our system today is totally doable and 100% constitutional.

(SPOILER: Democracy upgrades don't require wizardry or rewriting the Constitution).

In short, I find politics almost entirely divisive, when really, truly, there is so much common ground. There are differences, yes, and some real fundamental ones. But let's start with the similarities.

👨‍👩‍👧 People want their kids to grow up happy and healthy. If they don't have kids of their own, I'll bet they know some kids, and I'll bet they want these kids to grow up happy and healthy.

😇 If you are a kid, you want to grow up happy and healthy.

💰We all want to make a bit of money, have a few comforts, but I'll bet most of us want stable, steady work, yes, well-paid, but we'd take more certainty than riches.

🏘 We want our neighbourhoods to be lively, safe, welcoming.

🤯 We don't want to go to war. We don't want to get conscripted. We don't want to spend billions of dollars on weapons that, at the very best, don't get used, at worst, kill and wound thousands.

🍻 We'd like to have some friends, and even a best friend, and to be invited out on weekends, and to party a bit, and to get to go home and read a book or watch a movie if we'd rather.

All these things are the things that Canadians would like, day in day out, week in week out, year after year. We'd like others to have them too. It doesn't feel great if we do and everyone else scrapes by.

This doesn't sound like liberal or progressive or conservative ideology. It sounds like common sense.

So the question is how to get there? High taxes or low? More spending on health care and education or less? Pay down the debt, or borrow more now? More immigration or less? Invest in new infrastructure, or save for later?

You deserve a government that reflects how we really vote.
But First Past the Post is holding us back.

Most votes don’t count.
Most voices aren’t heard.
And progress stalls.

It's time for a system that works for us—not against us.
