…if you try and eat the same amount of calories I do… BUT PIZZA AND DONUTS on their own WILL NOT MAKE YOU FAT

I wanted to do a DETAILED WRITTEN POST on this to clear up some seeming misinformation that’s out there

EVERYONE can and should IMO be eating foods they CRAVE and ENJOY

When you cut out entire food groups like sugar or restrict yourself from your favourite snacks

It makes your diet HARDER TO STICK TO

The data is in, non restrictive diets are easier to adhere to and produce better, more sustainable results

People are able to lose weight with these methods, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, they are able to KEEP IT OFF LONG TERM

It’s called the 80/20 rule

80% clean, whole foods

20% whatever YOU LIKE

ITS NOT “eat only pizza and donuts”

🤯That’s not healthy and should be obvious

I eat 4 prepared/planned meals per day typically and then freestyle the rest of my calories

CHEAT SHEET 🗂 - for you to also be able to enjoy the 80/20 method of dieting

FIRST make sure you’ve gotten your protein goal in for the day

DO NOT skip this

1G of protein per pound of body weight (to keep it simple, it ranges and varies but this is a good baseline)

SECOND take your total calories you will be eating for the day and MULTIPLY by zero point two (0.2)

That gives you 20%

THIRD use app to look up whatever snack you want and make sure it fits in that calorie window

⚖️🪨💊THE LOWEST POINT IN MY LIFE… (HOOKED ON PAINKILLERS)💊🪨⚖️

This post is hard for me to write...

As an online coach for others some people like to think that I have it all together…

The truth is that I’ve gone through some extreme adversity in order to become the person that I am today

I’m going to tell you about one of the hardest experiences I’ve ever had to go through

I’ve gotta go back more than 5 years to before I moved here to Alberta…

I wasn’t living my best life

💊Hooked on painkillers (opiates, called hydromorphine) after breaking my spine, heels, and wrist (all in the same night)…

I had been a full time drug dealer for 10 years at this point..

And had spent 5 years in prison…

It felt like I literally knew no other way to be able to earn money to buy food and pay rent other than selling that stuff

I was 25… maybe 26… I kind of don’t think back that far too much..

My home life was crap when I was a kid

Some of my earliest memories are just my parents being violent towards me (and that’s a bit of an understatement 😅)

But I was fvcking sick of that life and one way or another was determined to break free of the cycle of negativity

While I was injured I went to stay with my mom in the city she was living in

And she has her own issues that I won’t get into, but I ended up leaving with my suitcase and duffel bags (carrying them all), even though both my feet were still in casts and I had to use two crutches to get around (both heels had been broken 🤕)

I ended up going to stay with a friend while I made an exit strategy

I was feeling completely alone, worthless, stupid, stuck…. I definitely had doubts I’d be able to successfully separate myself from the only life I’d known for so long…

And it wasn’t easy…

But I focused on becoming a better version of myself in all the ways I could think of 💡

I had already kind of fallen in love with fitness and the mental benefits of an exercise routine and pushing yourself through things that FELT uncomfortable but were actually NECESSARY to develop

These are the HABITS I used to break out of that cycle

🥘🍴The Classic🍴🥘

Any idea why chicken and rice is such a staple meal in most diets?

I have no freaking clue myself. I’ve eaten so much of it over the years I can’t stand plain stuff so typically I season it up, made curry here.

587 Cals

79 Carbs
10 Fat
39 Protein

(27% protein overall)

I counted the coconut oil I used to make the sauce for those macros, but typically I don’t count sauces or vegetables 🌽

Making food that tastes good has been pretty important in making it easy to adhere to a plan

If you’re busy and also have fitness goals you shouldn’t have to suffer through eating bland garbage day in and day out IMO even for competition level goals you CAN enjoy the crap you have to eat 💯

This is about 75% of my daily intake

3,065 cals here
184 Protein
364 Carbs
105 Fat

Meal 1 Cereal
Meal 2 Curry chicken and rice
Meal 3 Lentil pasta and chicken
Snacks : Shake, Cinnamon roll

Typically I try and fill the remaining cals with a couple flatbread pizzas when I get home Because I’m typically gone from 7AM-8PM or later through the week

I did not hit my body fat % goal 🥅

But I did follow my program for the most part, definitely leaned out, gained quality lean mass, and increased overall strength 🔥☝🏼

Starting a new challenge this month called

So for the next 75 days I’ll follow 5 simple rules :

1. Stick to a diet
2. Drink a gallon of water
3. Workout 2X daily minimum 45 mins each, one workout must be outside
4. Read 10 pages of a personal development book
5. Take a progress pic daily

So wish me luck and if anyone else would like to jump on this challenge JOIN ME!!

🌳🏰Lots of room to grow....

Been tracking macros for most of the month so far, only missed a couple days because I was a bit lazy....

Anyone who says you can’t eat certain things to reach your body goals is simply lying or has fallen victim to the Dunning-Kruger Effect (Google it, shots fired 🔫)

Here’s what my “meal plan” kind of looks like on a daily basis :

3,800 Cals
200 Protein or more
Less than 150-200 Fat
No idea how to count high enough to count my carbs, ran out of fingers and toes 🤷🏻‍♂️

Meal Content :

Daily I try to have a cinnamon roll (I have a STRICT limit that no more than 20% of my cals on avg go to junk food, but I don’t count burgers as junk food), and celery and carrot sticks, some chicken, rice sometimes, beef, and some more vegetables, I don’t always hit it exactly but is mostly about “getting kinda close”, remember I told you ☝🏼

Hope this insight into my nutritional regimen is helpful
