A sneak preview of the Eagle Bay Road Residence. This is a personal project that aims to replace an existing home that was a hodgepodge of additions and renovations. Set into the lakeshore where the existing house is located, the design creates privacy from the road and opens itself up to the lake. No A.I. here. Stay tuned for more to come.

The H&L Residence, in Edmonton. Located on a corner lot provided the opportunity to expand glazing in the public living space areas of the home to take advantage of views to the green space across the street while maintaining visual barriers for the private spaces of the home without sacrificing natural light.

I love physical models. Almost all of my work is digital these days but there is something so satisfying about the tactile process of building models. I also find that people respond differently to physical models versus digitally developed renderings; both are valuable to communicate ideas, form and spaces, of course. This is a model of the S Haus completed in Edmonton, in 2016. What are your thoughts about physical models? How do you respond to them when you see them? Let me know in the comments. 👇

Platform B Residence. Designed for a heavily forested and steeply sloped site, in Blind Bay, British Columbia, this design is made up of three platform volumes that are perched and stepped down the slope. The upper platform is 2,219 sq.ft. and contains the main entry, living spaces and bedrooms. The upper platform opens to a roof deck on the middle platform. The middle platform is 1,159 sq.ft. and has a gym and studio. The lower platform contains the garage. The platform volumes are connected by an elevator and interior and exterior stairs. The house is sited among the trees to immerse residents in the direct and dappled sunlight beaming through the leaves. This is a 4+ minute video and I encourage you to watch until the end to get a full understanding of the . Sound up. Music is "Ethereal Vistas" by Denys Brodovsky via Pixabay.com
