Have fun & enjoy the process of climbing, falling & trying again!
Focus on progress ๐
Ex. climbing a grade harder, moving more smoothly on the rock, or getting one move farther on your current project.
Even if you arenโt back to your previous level, enjoy the process of getting stronger again.
Show up! ๐ง
Put your climbing sessions in your calendar and make it a priority to get your body at the gym or crag.
Accept where you are ๐บ๏ธ
This is just the nature of the sport. Donโt get frustrated when you canโt do moves you did 1 month ago. Instead, focus on what you can do, and work up from there.
If V5s are now difficult again, start by trying to climb every V4 in the gym or at your local area, then worry about the V5s.
Set goals โญ๏ธ
Give your self markers along the journey to feel proud of. Donโt make them too far out of reach that they will take a year or longer but try to set monthly goals to aim after!
Ex. give yourself 3 months to get back to sending 5.11+ Then 6 months for 5.12. And a year to send 5.12+.
