Always original. Art inspired by people, places and things in my communities. Most pieces created with 90% recycled materials.

All set up with my creations at the Wolfville Farmer’s Market. Some old, some new and lots of blue. Nothing borrowed- all original thoughts and creativity.

Hoo. hoo. Hoo. hoo

Goes this future owl.

Came across the “base” on this rainy, windy run to the south shore about a month ago. Before I got to the car with it I knew it was a barn and I would creat a nest for birds. Over the next few weeks as I slowly worked to dry, preserve and strengthen it - from the inside out - I decided on a single owl. A Barn Owl with its ability to camouflage.

Over the last year I learned of the phrase “Died by Suicide” rather than “Committed Suicide”. It made me think about how society has not dealt with this choice of death very well. Normally not talking about it - when I worked with the media it was an unwritten rule not to write about it - let families grieve.

With another high profile su***de in the news this week (Clinton Ellison, Portapique N.S.) I had to start a small piece I have been contemplating. Two simple questions embracing the complexity of the English language. Two simple questions to help people start accepting the choice of death.

Show your love for those lost by joining the conversation. Perhaps, you may just change a persons decision to die.

Stay tuned, this piece is NOT done.

Lot of my art is influenced by music and musicians. Not sure how many actual pieces over the years, but safe to say in the range of 50 pieces. Not counting all those celebrating dance: that would push the number over 100.

From Jim Morrison to Prince, practice to serinade , paintings, mixed media and sculptures.

Love using old instruments like these guitars that I used for pieces a couple years ago. All those bits and pieces gone.

Fast Forward:

I’m looking for broken instruments, guitar strings and other bits and pieces. Even pianos.

Have stuff you would love to see turned into art let me know. I’m great at helping make stuff disappear.
