Devon Citizens on Patrol - Devon COPS

Helping to keep Devon safe through working at special events and patrolling our town. Training is provided.
The Devon COP is a group of citizens who serve the community through working closely with the local RCMP with activities like Community patrolling at night and traffic control at special events. The group is looking for new members who are willing to patrol once or twice a month and to help out when they can with special events.
The Devon Citizens on Patrol will be traveling around town this Halloween and handing out reflective armbands. Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

We were at Community Awareness night.
Happy Halloween. We handed out 200 reflective arm bands tonight to make it easier to see the ghouls and goblins and princesses as they walk around tonight. Thank you to the Alberta Motor Association for sponsoring the arm bands.

FYI
A fire ban is now in place in the entire Forest Protection Area of Alberta, due to the extreme heat. This means that campfires are not allowed on public or private land, including campgrounds and backyards. Propane powered appliances are still allowed. Canwarn is the Canadian equivalent to the US Skywarn. It is observer reporting of extreme weather events. The training helps you understand what Environment Canada is looking for. You do not have to be an Amateur Radio Operator to participate.
