A division of The Spry Farm, teaching people how to train their dogs so they can live happily and safely together ❤️

Caption this!

One of my clients has the most handsome greyhound and watching him walking by a group of deer had me chuckling at the similarity 🤣

I’m still training dogs, but life is just busy with grad school and work, so I’m not active on socials. Reach out if you’re looking to schedule training 🙃

What should be done in a situation like this? This dog is dangerous. He has an uninterruptible level of aggression. He is attacking a dog who is clearly terrified and trying to get away. And his owner has no control. Then, he flees the situation. A police report and animal control report should be made so that charges can be pressed and a judge can decide if the dog needs stipulations placed to keep the community safe. These situations are so unfair. Why was this dog brought to a busy event at all. And no muzzle, no harness? #reactivedog #dogparents #dogbehavior 09/06/2025

The fact of the matter is that EVERYONE must have control of their dogs (and many people do not).

I personally believe that if a dog has a bite history of any kind, owners should be working with a reputable trainer and utilizing management tools/practices to confidently and safely handle that dog. This includes making smart choices about what environments your dog is going to be successful in.

How I would like to speak with my clients’ about their dog’s behavior… lol.

Could you handle it if I explained your dog’s behaviour as candidly as this?

Everyone wants a good dog,
But not everyone wants to become the kind of person that makes a good dog.

In today’s world we have been conditioned to expect quick results, success, and instant gratification with minimal effort.

People want to turn their poorly behaved dog into a “Homeward Bound” dream dog without ever putting in the hours it takes to truly understand one in the first place.

Here’s the thing…
A reciprocal relationship can’t be rushed. It is built over time and comes with highs and lows.

What took others years of learning, failing, watching, and refining people now want handed to them in a video tutorial, “any tips” a trainer can give them, or a couple training sessions.

Furthermore, the shortcuts people chase are often detours that lead them right back to where they started, just more frustrated this time.

They want the feel, not the feedback.
They want the bond, not the humility.
They want the dog to change, but don’t want to change themselves.

No one can hand you the timing, the feel, the confident, calm, consistent leadership it takes.
It can’t be downloaded or purchased.

You earn that, learn it, develop it, with every consistent rep and step. With knowledge. With patience. With clarity. Through being a lifelong learner open to change. By showing up on the days it’s hard, boring, frustrating, scary, or humbling.

Become knowledgeable.
Put in the hours.
Because your dog deserves that best version of you.

June Dog Walking Challenge It takes a society

You asked, I'm delivering. Here are the top 10 things that annoy me the most in the horse industry (in no particular order).

#7: Making excuses for a horse's bad behavior instead of assessing your skills as a horseman and the situation.

If you change horses to dogs, physical problems to traumatic past, and tack/bits to harnesses/toys/treats/eCollars/etc…. this applies 100% to dog owners and their dogs lol

If someone fosters/adopts him I will teach you how to crate train FOR FREE!

PLEASE SHARE

We need a new foster home for Rocket ASAP. Or better yet a forever home. His foster home can no longer come home at lunch to let him out. We now have a crate that he cannot break out of. This kennel will be made available to anyone who adopts for a few months until he realizes a kennel is a safe place. And will also be made available to his foster home.

He is neutered vaccinated and microchipped. He weighs about 76 lbs.

THE GOOD
