What if part of your wellness plan included spending more time outside? šæ
PaRx is Canadaās national nature prescription program, connecting people with the health benefits of spending time in nature. Itās one example of - a growing movement that recognizes health is shaped by more than medical care alone and connects people with resources that support well-being.
Sometimes, better health (physical and mental) starts with stepping outdoors.
And with summer around the corner, itās the perfect time āļø

š Connection strengthens mental health
Connection is a cornerstone of our well-beingāyet loneliness is rising across Canada.
This week, in partnership with Canadian Mental Health Association, weāre invited to Come Together: a reminder that small, everyday moments of connection matter more than we think.
Say āhiā to your neighbour.
Smile at a local shop owner.
Text a friend.
Drop a meme in the family group chat.
These simple acts add upāand they make a difference.
Because connection strengthens mental health.

Letās talk burnout.
In a time of constant pressure, rising costs, and information overload, it makes sense that many people feel like theyāre just trying to get through the day.
But when stress turns into chronic exhaustion because the demands on you exceed the resources available, it may be burnout.
Burnout can look like fatigue, low motivation, irritability, difficulty concentrating, withdrawal, and feeling constantly drained. I noticed some of these signs in myself recently, too.
Taking time to slow down, walk, rest, and reconnect reminded me that healing often starts in small moments.
We do not need to earn rest by burning out first. Rest is productive too.
If youāve been pushing yourself lately, let this be your reminder: youāre allowed to pause before you break. If you need support with this, Iām here to help šæ

š Resource Alert š
Iāve been using this app myself the last few months and let me tell ya - how user-friendly it is! With great visuals and easy tracking, itās easy to be consistent. And the consistency can give good data, showing you a monthly breakdown of your tracked mood and providing some tools like breathing exercises, psychoeducation, mindfulness and sound patterns.
Even better? Itās FREE and you donāt have to create an account (unless secure backup, sharing abilities and AI insights are important to you).
Looking for an alternative mood tracker? This one might be for you, as it is for me.

Itās been a minute since Iāve shared another Counsellorās Corner moment so here it is: Iām a Girl Mom.
Which means Iām raising girls in a world that is still learning how to value women fully.
This International Womenās Day, Iām thinking about:
⢠the women navigating systems that werenāt designed for them
⢠the parents working to break glass ceilings for their daughters
⢠those raising boys to become thoughtful, respectful men
⢠and the women carrying the invisible pressure of biological timelines and expectations
There are many ways to be strong as a woman.
Sometimes strength is breaking barriers.
Sometimes itās simply continuing to show up.
Today we celebrate that strength ā in all its forms.
Hereās to women ā and to raising the next generation to know their worth āØ
No matter what walks into the room ā curiosity, anxiety, tears, anger ā itās all welcome here.
You donāt have to edit yourself before session.
You donāt have to make it make sense.
However you arrive, Iāll meet you where youāre at - and together weāll gently untangle whatās coming up and move toward the goals that matter most to you š
Listening to take us into her brain, I couldnāt help but think: this is therapy language.
She speaks about journaling not just to vent, but to shape her thinking. And when she says, āI can control what I think,ā sheās describing the heart of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy ā recognizing that while we canāt control everything around us, we can learn to work with our thoughts and reframe how we feel and behave.
Thatās neuroplasticity. The brain can rewire. We can practice new patterns.
As an Asian counsellor, itās powerful to see an Asian woman normalize mental training alongside achievement. The inner work matters.
If youāre ready to build a different relationship with your thoughts, this is work we can do together.

The news from Tumbler Ridge is heartbreaking.
Events like this can bring up grief, fear, anger, or anxiety ā even if youāre not directly connected. These are very human responses to something deeply painful.
If youāre struggling, please reach out. Support is available.
Take care of yourself and check in on the people around you š
