Iron Timber Ranch

Spoon is still a thick little tank. She's the first rabicano we've had on the ranch, with a c**n tail and white hairs throughout her flank/barrel. I love how curious and friendly this filly is, she's been so easy to work with!

This c**t is just perfection. Everyday Finley gets nicer which seems impossible. Piper is bred back the same way for 2027... can't wait to see what she's cooking up!

Getting updates like these makes all the lows worth it ❤️ Skoki is one of Memphis's first foals and just turned 3 - here's some incredibly kind words from his owner:

"Just thought I'd let you know I'm riding Skoki outside and he's awesome. He's always very easy to catch and has never spooked, bucked or misbehaved under saddle. He knows all the basic stuff but my favourite is when I get off in the middle of the arena and say "park" and he goes to where he gets tied up when I take the saddle off. Best horse of my life! Thank you."

This week Iron Timber lost one of the horses that started it all. Flicka may not have been the face of ITR but she was the heart and soul. My first horse and the best companion one could ask for. Flicka and I learned everything together... driving, riding, and almost every trick in the book (her smiles were always a fan favourite!).

She looked out for me and put up with all the shenanigans one could probably put a horse through. She'll be sorely missed. Here's to the horses that bring us joy, friendship, and a lifetime of learning - Thank you Flicka 💕

I swear this poor stallion puts up with so much! Memphis enjoyed a much needed sunset trail ride after wrapping up breeding season. We're really looking forward to the small batch of Memphis foals due in 2027!

Exceptional is the only word that comes to mind for this c**t. That long neck, those perfect legs, and that little head. Finley is everything we wanted and more.

He's certainly inherited his mama Piper's big personality, and he's every bit as fancy as she is. If this is what he looks like now, we can only imagine how cool he'll be under saddle in a couple of years!

Spoon had her feet trimmed today and handled it like a pro. She's very willing and the kind that thinks through new situations. Really showing the qualities we like to see in a young prospect.
